Hotel staffs are efficient and friendly. Central location for shopping and transit. Excellent work out facility. We had the opportunity to enjoy the spring Macaron buffet at this hotel! It was really, really delicious. Congrats to the pastry chefs.

We stayed at InterContinental Osaka on the day when we arrived in Japan and the day before we left.
We got a free upgrade during the first night there because it was our first time staying with them. The room had a spectacular view of the Umeda Sky Building. If you want to visit the Floating Garden Observatory, it's less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
When we were ready to leave for Kyoto, the hotel staff was very helpful in taking care of our luggage, which we left behind so we could travel light.
We spent our last night in Japan at InterContinental as well. We didn't get the room upgrade but our room was just as nice. The view was not as good as the first room but was still pretty nice. It also has a small walk-in closet.
I love the breakfast buffet at the hotel. It's a little more expensive (about 4000 yen/person) than the price at The Westin Miyako Kyoto but the food was definitely better.
I didn't think our experience could be any better after the staff put us into our taxi to KIX. A gentle knock on the window brought us a card, which has the taxi number and hotel phone number, just in case we forgot something in the car or we had problems with the service. When we arrived at KIX, the driver gave us 8k yen discount, bringing the total down to 11k yen because we stayed with InterContinental. This is just one of the examples of how honest and nice the Japanese people are. We didn't know about the discount at all. It cost about 15k yen from KIX to hotel.

Located in the city’s north side, this is Osaka’s center for contemporary shopping. In addition to numerous shopping malls, this is the home of the Umeda Sky Building. Designed to reflect the image of the sky, the building’s two 173 meter towers are joined by exterior escalators and a rooftop floating garden. The Blue Note Osaka, one of the city’s premier jazz clubs, is also found in Umeda.
