Good overall hotel. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and reasonably priced. Would stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Pros: Location to UT Martin
Cons: Cleanliness of breakfast area
Location: On main drag of Martin...very close to UT Martin
It was just what we needed for a one night short stay. Not anything fancy, but comfortable.

We like to stay here when we visit our son. Nothing fancy, but clean and front desk employees are nice. Breakfast is good,as well.

Labor Day
Posted Jan 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
My stay was okay--nothing extra-ordinary. Our television did not play right. All of the stations were fuzzy-picture not clear. We did not find this out until we returned to our room that night. Since it was night, we decided not to bother the night person about it. Instead, we went to bed. Suggestion: It would be nice if you had coffee in the lobby 24/24. You only had one package in the room. That is not enough for coffee drinkers. I went to the lobby to get a cup around 10:15 A.M. The urn was empty, and the person on duty would not make any more.

I was a little concerned when I pulled up as it is not a very fancy looking hotel. I was very presently suprised to see the rooms were clean and it was very quit around the hotel. The person at the desk was very nice and helpful. I plan on staying often due to my daughter goes to UTM. I will be coming to Martin TN about once a month.

myob (make your own bed)
Posted Jan 2, 2012
It would have been alright except my bed wasn't made! I had been driving all day, was exhausted and my room was a mattress, a couple pillows and a stack of blankets folded on top! Just what I wanted to do after traveling 14 hours, make a bed! Otherwise the cleanliness and condition of the hotel was ok given the price, I don't think i would have swam in that little pool, but everything else was okay I guess!

Room for Improvement
Posted Jan 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
The best part of the stay was the day clerk Steven! If I had to score based on hi soley the hotel would get a thumbs up; "STEVEN WAS THE MAN". he was very attentive to missing iron boards, faulty irons, and additional linens. The evening shift was never available even when you called 0 as directed; no one answered and was very frustrating! Our room was never cleaned despite being there two nights; we were from another state and stayed around the room a bit which made it hard however when we were gone no effort was made to return. The room was not cleaned and even had someone else's clothes in the drawer. The wall was repaired and not repainted and the bathtub was scary not sure what went wrong with the cleaning or perhaps its was stained. Overall experience was not good! I still appreciate Steven he deserves a raise!

Nice Stay

Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The sink is located behind the bathroom door. So you have to close the door to use the sink.
Location: Very convenient. Close to the college campus and close to several restaurants and stores
Our room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. My husband and I both have problems with being stiff in the mornings but we were able to move easily when we got up. The hotel is in a very convenient location. It is an older building but in very good condition, as was the room. I would recommend this Econolodge to others. The only problem we had was the coffee pot in the room had water in it already and it looked like it had been there a while. Coffee in the lobby was suppose to be ready at 6:30 but wasn't. No big deal but could be if we would have been depending on it.

Not a Pleasant Experience
Posted Jan 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
In fairness, I stayed here two nights, in two different rooms, and the first night was largely uneventful. The "2" score is an average of "3" and "1." The second night was a travesty. The highlight was a gaggle of drunken rednecks partying outside for what seemed like the entire night. The next morning I took a photo of the debris field they left in the parking lot - cans, bottles, even their cooler. I realize the hotel cannot be held fully accountable, but I don't think they even tried. Within the room itself there was a spider in the bathtub, dried blood in the sink, no bath towels, a TV channel guids that bore little resemblance to what was actually available, lights that did not work, AC that did not work well or quietly, and a shortage of hot water. About the only positives were a comfortable bed (in which to lie and listen to hootin' and hollerin') and a reasonably good breakfast.
