front desk very nice. concierge not so much

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: front desk and bell boys helpful
Cons: one of the concierge could probably lose the condescending attitude. Yes we are from Iowa, we are not stupid.
Location: union Square and china town. Great shopping and restaurants.
We chose the Prescott for the location; it did not disappoint. Except for one, the front desk was great. They were Willing to help and offer great suggestions. We were told we could have upgrade to club, despite having the room available the front desk said "it would be a hassle" so we just stayed where we were. We were on vacation so we just went with it. The room was nice except for the problem of looking out the window we got a view of the roof and a wall. Our window opened to the roof and it was quite obvious by pot pipe, pills and pot- also lots of cigarette butts and alcohol leftovers that this roof was used for something other then keeping rain out. Again most of the staff were awesome and when we reported what was on roof I am sure they cleaned it up. The cleaning staff was great also except the bathroom floor, it is old hotel so I imagine that it is tough to clean.

Short Visit to San Francisco

Posted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Staff very welcoming and helpful. Room and en suite were very clean, bed was super comfy and free use of bikes was a nice perk.Good location.
Cons: Hotel decor and finishings looked a little tired. Air conditioning and water pipes a little noisy.
Location: Right next Union Square, easy access to public transport system, near main shopping district.
Pit stop in San Francisco before flying back home to Scotland after visiting Lake Tahoe and Napa Valley. Visit to Alcatraz was a must, using to cable cars was great fun.

Great time at Prescott Hotel

Posted Mar 9, 2015
This hotel has a great location, 2 blocks from Union Square where you can get pretty much anything you need and want. Very charming boutique hotel with awesome service. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only thing I have negative to say about is the temperature in our room. It seems like the AC wasn't working properly. Staff offered us to switch room which was nice. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit San Francisco

Looks like our staff knocked your stay out of the park! As for the ACs we are currently changing them out now to new and improved units. We can't wait to have you stay with us again!

Second Time Stay

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: The location, cleanliness and staff.
Cons: I had no issues at all.
Location: Great location, nearby great shopping and any events at Union Square.
This was my second time at the Prescott. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is great for walking and the cost for valet parking is a decent price for SF standards. There was a close by city lot for $15 less.

Changes coming slowly

Posted Mar 7, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything----start the renovation earlier
The bar and restaurant are closed. Remodeling to start in November. The hotel was sold last year to a new group (who?) which are letting the maintenance etc slide until the renovation starts. Right now it's a "tired old lady" which seems to be attracting a younger group of people---some of whom looks right out of KOA. If one overlooks the "tiredness" you will enjoy its boutique feel. ;

Last July our hotel was sold to another big hotel ownership but it will remain managed by Kimpton Hotels. We are make big strides everyday. This week we are starting our AC change out where at the end we will have all new ACs in the building. We can't wait to see what the hotel will look like when it is all said and done.

Hello Nick. I'm so sorry that the AC kept making noises. This is something that has come up recently and to remedy the noise we are going to start the change out of all the room ACs this week. We hope that when you return you will see the difference. Thank your for your review.
