Hübsches Hotel am See

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Das Hotel hat einen wunderschönen Wellnesbereich mit Ruhezone und Ausblick auf den See. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich. Das Frühstück ist genial, mit viel Auswahl. Abends sollte man auswärts essen gehen. Die Portionen sind teuer und eher übersichtlich.

A bit dated but can't beat location!

Posted Sep 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
A spectacular location with a view of Zugspitze on the bank of a fantastically beatiful lake. But - ABSOLUTELY insist on a room facing the lake (about 40 Euro extra), preferably away from the bar area. Rooms in the back have all the charm of Motel 6 with a view of garbage containers. Rooms are very dated (pillows felt like the original from 1920s), but service is excellent and location is unbeatable

Views of the Zugspitze!

Rode the bus from Garmish and it was packed. Maybe the train would have been more spacious. Bus stop right outside the hotel front entrance so convenient that that regard. Check-in was easy and through conversation with the friendly front desk attendant we decided to upgrade for a view of the mountains. It was a tough decision mountains or lake view, either are spectacular...you decide for yourself! The hotel was super clean and the grounds were in fantastic condition. Room was fantastic and what a view! Only staying one night and so we ate in the hotel restaurant and it did not disappoint. Hugo's very expertly made so we had two! Next took the train back to Garmish for kicks no issues. So either bus or train to the hotel are easy and stress free!

Ebisee Hotel

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: The ambiance and serenity of the place.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Town of Garmisch-Partinkirchen and trip to the top of the Zugspitz Mountain.
Lovely European style hotel at the base of the Zugspitz Mountain, Germany's highest peak. We took the cable car to the top and came down on the cog-wheel train. Scenery was breathtaking and afterwards we spent the night at the Ebisee Hotel. Friends had told us not the miss spending a night at the hotel and they were right. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Accommodations were lovely and food excellent. Definitely do not miss.

Absolutely Fantastic

This was an unbelievable location - the lake itself is fantastic with beautiful islands and crystal clear water that is of drinking quality. the mountain panorama with the Zugspitz right next to the lake is over the top. The cable car to the top of the Zugspitz is located just across the parking lot, and a foot path around the lake is also fantastic. The hotel is very nice, and not overly fancy for a 4 star hotel, it does a great job of catering to the needs of the skiers and hikers that stay there, and we found it just right for our preferences.
