“Great, Old-style hotel in Bavarian Alps”
This is a Bavarian Hotel, with emphasis on personl service, very good food, high quality rooms, etc.. The staff is very-service oriented. I had a more expensive room, and it was very large and comfortable, with a nice view over the little river. It is a famous Alpine resort town, and this is one of their really good, old-style hotels, with the emphasis on service, food, classy surroundings.
“Great hotel”
Our experience was almost perfect. Great hotel with a lot of heritage. Service very helpful and there was always someone at the desk who spoke English. Great breakfast buffet with eggs/sausage/bacon/etc available to order. Nice pool and spa area, but teeny tiny fitness room without even a treadmill. Had two fabulous dinners in the hotel restaurant. Our room had a separate sitting area off the bedroom which was nice, but the bathroom had tub only with vaulted ceilings over the tub, so really no way to stand and shower (but great shower in the spa area, just without any privacy).
“Quiet and Comfortable; Worth Every Penny”
This hotel was very relaxing and enjoyable. We had an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant. The rooms were very nice and tastefully decorated. The location is great -- quiet and situated near a nice neighborhood great for morning and evening strolls. The main Garmisch shopping district is only a short 5 minute walk from the hotel through a nice neighborhood. The old town of Partenkirchen is a 10 minute walk in the other direction. So the hotel is conveniently located between these two popular destinations. This hotel is deserving of its 5 star rating. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that they took the large flat panel TV out of our room after we checked in and unpacked and replaced it with a tiny TV so they could use the big TV to display the Germany v. Spain World Cup semi-final game in the hotel lobby. They never brought the big TV back after the game. For a 5 star room at a 5 star price, they should have found another TV to use or at least pulled it out of our room before we arrived so we wouldn't have been the wiser. We ended up watching the soccer match on "our" TV in the lobby anyway to be part of the action and excitement of the World Cup.
“Very Rude Management in Restaurant and Front Desk”
I rarely stay in 5 star hotels because I often find that the staff are just too formal. Generally, however, 5 star hotels have very good service. The management in the hotel and at the front desk was the most rude that I have encountered during travel to over 100 countries around the world. If you have a problem during your stay and you raise the issue with a manager, you will find that their management approach is to attack the client and question the client rather than resolve the problem. IAs 've said, I've never experienced anything like it. My advice is there are so many other nice hotels in Garmisch Partenkirchen that have nice rooms, good service and kind staff; if I were you, I wouldn't waste my money or weekend to try this so-called 5 star hotel.
“Garmish Best”
Wonderful place to stay. Excellent breakfast and great restaurant.
“Excleent Hotel”
This hotel had exceptional staff and a fine restaurant. Its location was perfect for those who want the shopping experience in Garmisch and the quiet local flavor of Partenkirchen
“Perfect Home Base for exploring Bavaria”
Hotel was in the perfect location. Lunch/Dinner at the hotel was also very good. We had a junior suite which was just lovely. Huge terrace with wonderful views. Front desk also very helpful.
“Nice intermediate scale hotel”
This is an intermediate scale hotel that isn't quite the charming B&B but somewhere more personalized than the conventional European business hotels (of which I am personally not too much a fan). Room was very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Views were so-so, but I guess we didn't pay for that. Value for money was okay, not a big-time bargain for us. Oh, health club and pool is pretty nice. The hotel bar and restaurant are quite good, although we got stuck on French food week and couldn't enjoy traditional Bavarian delicacies. The included breakfast was nice.
“By far the very best hotel in Garmisch...if not Germany”
We stayed in one of their junior suites for seven nights. The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel manager was very hands on with each customer...he even helps in the dining room at night. The entire hotel staff was very professional and friendly...especially Caroline, our receptionist, who always went above and beyond what was expected. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is only two blocks from the train station and 1/2 block from the main trail which leads to the greatest hiking in all of Germany. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay in Garmisch...we will certainly return.
“Fantastic!”
Our stay at Reindl's was the high point of our trip. The room was clean and comfortable with a terrace leading to a hedged and beautifully lit garden where we could lounge in padded chairs with a bottle of wine brought from town. The swimming pool and sauna are beautiful and well maintained, and the dining room served some of the finest meals we had in Bavaria. Best of all was the staff. They are not only helpful in hotel matters, but were a wonderful aid to our adventures. We stayed four nights, and not only did they make great recommendations for side trips, but even helped us with train schedules. I would consider this a 'desination' hotel.
