"Home From Hone"
We had a wonderful 3weeks in these well equipped apartments. When we arrived we were given a room on the 5th floor. We had no complaint about the apartment layout etc but because it was just above the construction site the noise and dust made it impossible to use the balcony. If our stay would have been a brief few nights we probably would not have bothered with a move but because our stay was for 21 nights we decided to ask for a room on a higher floor so we could experience the sights of Manhatten both day and night from a position away from the construction noise and dust. Initially we were told there was nothing available but after insistence that something would surely come up over the period of our three week stay we were moved to the 18th floor after a five day period. Denise on the front desk deserves a special thanks as she went out of her way to meet our demands when we first arrived. The housekeepers and doormen also deserve a mention. I would fully recommend these apartments as they are situated a bit uptown away from the hectic tourism sites and you can experience the neighbourhood as lived by real New Yorkers going about their daily life's. It is well worthwhile buying a Metrocard as this can be used on both subway and bus. If you get the 7day unlimited use one it costs 30dollars plus a 1dollar one off payment. My favourite place to visit was Bryant Park and at the end of a busy day of touring coming home to The Marmara Apartments.

"Wales Hotel"
The Wales Hotel is located in the Upper East Side on Manhattan Island. It is in a classy neighbourhood just one block back from 5th Avenue which runs alongside Central Park. It is within walking distance of the fabulous museums, the subway and bus stops. There are supermarkets nearby, also bakery/coffee shops and restaurants. My room was quite adequate - double bed, wardrobe, writing desk and chair, TV and separate bathroom. Lovely and clean and quiet. Although coffee and tea is available 24/7 it is not always hot! This was disappointing but I made do with the local coffee shops instead. I would use this hotel again and highly recommend it due to its convenient location and cleanliness.

Pocket Guide: New York Upper East Side Independent Pet-friendly Hotels

Of all the superlatives used to describe the Upper East Side, one word is apt: richest. Some of the city’s wealthiest residents live in the high rises that line Fifth Avenue. Be prepared to spend an entire day at the Museum of Metropolitan Art. Both a physical and art-world behemoth, the Met is home to several masterworks, from an intact ancient Nubian temple to post-modern color studies.
