"Fine digs in the big apple"
First class room and service up to its reputation. Fitness center could be better but it's better than most hotels. Clearly a five star.

"Live as New Yorkers do!!!"
Booked this hotels as I wanted to be in a residential area away from the hustle and bustle but near enough to attractions and shopping. Was not disappointed. Kitchenette was a selling point as I had my 7 year old son and did breakfast. Small park nearby which was good and everything was in walking distance. Room was on 24th floor which had great views. Supermarket and deli across the road and McDonalds , pharmacy, liquor store and hospital all in a short walking distance.

"Gorgeous Hotel"
The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, and while my room was a little small it was very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. There are lovely shops right across the street and next door, along with an amazing restaurant affiliated with the hotel.

"Hidden gem on NYC's Upper East Side"
If you want to feel like a New Yorker, and not a tourist, this is the place for you. 254 East Vacation is full of charm and character--each apartment/room is unique, quiet and private, and even has a small kitchen. Wonderful location on the Upper East, walk to anything you need---food, drug store, shopping and more, just steps away. Enjoy a leasurely walk to Central Park, or stroll along the East River--both are walking disance from the hotel. This is by far and away our favorite place to stay when we are in NYC. I can't say enough good things about 254 East Vacation and the folks who run this hotel--we've been going there for more than 2 years and have never had a problem. It is our home away from home whenever we are in New York!

Pocket Guide: New York Upper East Side Independent Shopping Hotels

Of all the superlatives used to describe the Upper East Side, one word is apt: richest. Some of the city’s wealthiest residents live in the high rises that line Fifth Avenue. Be prepared to spend an entire day at the Museum of Metropolitan Art. Both a physical and art-world behemoth, the Met is home to several masterworks, from an intact ancient Nubian temple to post-modern color studies.
