Hotel Augustins - modern twist to German traditionPosted Jan 23, 2012 on Hotels
Really happy with our one night stopover. Very festive pre-Xmas in the restaurant area. Clean, modern, stylish room. Amazing how they have taken a modern, ugly building and made it so welcoming. Good food, the breakfast buffet presentation was one of the most attractive we have seen in many hotels. Great selection, especially breads. Dinner was good. Let down with the potatos! But excellent Gulasch and delicious starters. We did not stay long enough to enjoy coffee and cake, but suspect they would have been enjoyable too. Beautifully decked out for Xmas. Seemed to be child friendly. Overall sense was that someone wants to make a small regional hotel into a real boutique find on a reasonable budget. Highly recommend.

Excellent hotelPosted Aug 16, 2011 on Hotels
This hotel was a diamond in the rough. If you plan to stay anywhere near Bacharach on the Rhine, then this hotel is a gem. Everything is seemingly brand-spanking new and has very convenient parking underground. Highly recommend.

Good hotel in a relaxed small townPosted Aug 4, 2011 on Hotels
Nice hotel in nice surroundings. Indoor parking available against a minor extra fee. Absolutely no negative to say about this place - except it put the bar high for the remaining of the trip....

Really professional and smart servicePosted Jun 14, 2011 on Hotels
The hotel was in a lovely location, easy to find, and it had several stylish touches. However, the bed was the usual european "double" which was really two mattresses next to one another. Not soooo comfortable, but not unusual in Germany. The main complaint we had was that the key system was a bit wonky and we frequently would find that the door would open itself. We only stayed a night but for a longer stay that would have been unacceptable. I'm sure the staff would have dealt with it though. They were impressively competent and polite. Breakfast was nice!

Hotel Augustin, Oberwesel, GermanyPosted May 18, 2011 on Hotels
Brand spanking new hotel. Opened February, 2011. Location is perfect if you want to relax along the Rhein or explore the surrounding area castles, etc. The village is quaint and nice and the hotel and staff is top notch. This hotel topped the list of hotels we stayed in along the Rhein.Only complaint- could have used another chair in the room.
