Relaxing breakPosted May 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a lovely, relaxing one-night break. The room was comfortable with a king size bed, the staff were welcoming and friendly, the food was superb and the hotel itself was in a beautiful quiet setting. this is an ideal hotel to visit if you want to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Fantastic Country House - Excellent food & ServicePosted Sep 26, 2012 on Hotels.com
We had a great stay at Ardtara. We were seeing some nearby sights (Bushmillls & Giants Causeway) and this was a perfect secluded, quiet gem of a place. The service was excellent and the food served in the restaurant was absolutely stunning and could not be faulted. I would fully recommend this country house if hiding away and eating fantastic food, followed by a comfortable night sleep is what you want. We will definitely return.

Fantastic experience at ArdtaraPosted Sep 26, 2012 on Hotels.com
We stayed (wife, mother & myself) at Ardtara after a night in Belfast on the night before travelling on to the Giant's Causeway. It is ideally located as a middle point for such a trip, in a beautiful rural location just outside a small village. This was the second time I had stayed (first with wife also) and was looking forward to it and was not disappointed. The house is beautiful, the decor suited to the age of the building and everywhere is spotless. The grounds are lovely and it has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. What really distinguishes Ardtara though are the service levels, which are outstanding; the staff are genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful in all regards. We ate dinner in the restaurant (which we had not done on our previous visit), which is in the "Blue Book" and it was exceptionally good and, given the quality, really good value also. Breakfast was also really good, with a nice choice and great quality. The hotel also has free WiFi.

Causeway Belfast midpointPosted Sep 2, 2012
Pros: The food
Cons: The lack of knowledge of the staff with the exception of Valerie
Location: Beautiful but hard to find
You need GPS to find this place! It is remote in a beautiful farm land setting. It is an old mansion that was brilliant for its time, but is aging. The quality of the food was a pleasant surprise. Delicious soups, perfectly cooked steaks, and fresh vegetables. People from the surrounding area come for specials dinners, so it is quite well thought of locally. Wine and ber are fine, but don't expect cocktails. They do not have a clue what a martini is. They try to please and will work hard to keep you happy.

Delicious Food!Posted Nov 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very nice and the staff couldnt have been more friendly or helpful. Our room was really big with a lovely fireplace and my mother in law's single room was really spacious with a huge bed - not a single at all! The staff were friendly and really helpful (television remote not working and they tried really hard to fix it and make sure everything was OK as quickly as possible) and the restaurant was of a really good standard - we all enjoyed our meal a lot and it was really reasonably priced. Id recommend ArdTara hotel - cant really comment on the grounds too much as it was poring raiin and we didnt go outside - but that's Ireland for you!

Great internet B&B rate. Very friendly welcome and warm professional attitude displayed by all staff. Beautiful old world room with an enormous bathroom with genuine cast-iron bath along side the modern shower. Fantastic food and delightfully formal dining service. A real quality establishment!

A lovely retreatPosted Apr 25, 2011
We stayed here over our anniversary and it was exactly the atmosphere we were after. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food delicious - it was nice to note that the restaurant was used by locals obviously out for a 'treat' as well as hotel guests. Ardtara provided an excellent, and extremely comfortable, base after a long day sight-seeing. Thank you to all the hard working staff who made our stay so comfortable.
