Nice HotelPosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: Pros: Friendly staff, clean, near port and a great breakfast.
Cons: Cons: Small rooms, sketchy neighborhood and weak wifi.
Location: The Babieca across the street from the hotel is a fun place to relax. A two minute cab ride away is the Locos De Asar for excellent food and wine.
We stayed here for two nights before we took the ferry to Buenos Aires. The hotel is a little gem stuck in a bad neighbor hood.

Nice Hotel in the Old CityPosted Oct 30, 2013
There was plenty of activities and people during the day, but in the evening it was pretty quiet so you needed to venture away from the area for any evening activities.

Desert nights.Posted Aug 18, 2013
Cons: Prepare tours from the hotel
Nice hotel if you don't plan to walk around at night. During the day very active. Unless you go for business to the nearby area, I would not recommend it.

Really nice hotel. Brad newPosted Aug 12, 2013
Location: The hotel is in front of Mercado del Puerto, nice place to eat, but eaven better to eat is the Mercado Agricola de Montevideo (use the taxi).
Hotel is perfect, but unfortunately in a dangerous area. On night my wife was burgled one block from hotel and we had to come back 2 days before . If you go tho this hotel it is important to avoid walking around during the night.

In the city center not near beaches.Posted Jul 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is being renovated for the World Cup and the Olympics so it was a bit noisy during the day. Renovations will be a big improvement in the overall quality of the hotel. Views of Sugarloaf Mountain are fabulous from the front rooms of the hotel facing the street. Staff spoke English and were generally very helpful. Always ask the bellman to instruct the taxi driver where you want to go. The taxi drivers are notoriously unreliable and don't know the city and do not speak a word of English.

Smart small hotelPosted Jun 2, 2013
Nice small hotel. Very quiet. Excellent helpful staff who speak English. Smart place with nice bathrooms and all mod cons. Good value too. In the warmer seasons the roof-top bar and pool area would be very nice. Right accross the street from an old market with wonderful restaurants.

Great hotel - consider security thoughPosted May 1, 2013
Excellent hotel. Great value for money. Small, but well decorated rooms, pleasant staff, with great breakfast and lots of nice touches. Only problem is outside security. At night the streets are quiet, and a few people stand around which makes it intimidating. As there aren't many restaurants near (the mercado which is opposite and full of restaurants was closed at night in April). Various people advised me not to walk the streets outside at night, which makes seeing the lovely city a bit of a pain.

Lovely hotel near to the port.wPosted Apr 9, 2013
Pros: Comfortable and friendly
Cons: Dark decor
Location: Right next door to the puerto mercado
Brilliant and friendly service. As I am a coeliac and requested gluten free they went to enormous trouble with my breakfast. The hotel room was lovely but decor is quite dark. Did not bother me though in a hot climate. There is a pool albeit small but they were happy to serve breakfast on the terrace there which was lovely.
