Good location
The hotel has a great location and the staff is really friendly. The rooms and especially the bathrooms are already showing heavy wear and tear with mildew and water marks everywhere. The breakfast is way too basic and insufficient. I do however understand that you get what you pay for but I have stayed at better hotels in Montevideo on the same price range

Bugs in the room , hairs in the showers and bathroom floor . AC no was working . Breakfast buffet was good , housekeeping was friendly. Front desk staff , never say good morning or good afternoon. They need work in the hospitality.

excellent staff and nice location
the hotel location is great. Right in the city center. Next to the main bus station there (rio branco) with easy connection by bus to other parts of the city, to the airport or to other places in Uruguay. 5 minutes walk or so to the old city pedestrian street. A lot of good restaurants and other attractions very close to the hotel. Convenience stores right next to it. The room I had (909) faced the street. The noise insulation is not the best and there was no fridge. Other than that I found the bed comfortable and the room is of good size. WiFi connection was really excellent. A huge plus when you need to work :) The shower was good. No issue with pressure and/or hot water. The breakfast was just fine. Nothing fancy but enough variety and good quality. The staff was great. Very helpful and welcoming. Fast Check-in and check-out and even very early check-in and late check-out with no surcharge.

Café style hotel in good location for sightseeing
Café style hotel set in the heart of the old town of Montevideo. Very efficient with large café area for bar/dining. Breakfast room separate and sometimes difficult to seat everyone at busy times. Rooms were fine - bathroom and shower were a very good size. Lovely bar staff. Express hotel is a good description as it appeared that people tend to be passing through.

Previous stays were better: we had a fridge in a clean room. This time however, there was a lot of hair in the bathroom and filthy mold in the shower on walls and floor. No drinking glasses in room--had to ask at the bar and we were given plastic cups for our (expensive) wine. How gauche. Asked for a room change and was told that they were sold out. We will not stay again, nor will we recommend it, with several other great neighborhood options.

Functional but no fun.
I was staying for eight nights and wanted a place near the old town but where everything worked. This is a very busy modern hotel with no ambiance at all. Breakfast room was set up like feeding herds of cattle but it all worked.I had read quite a number of reviews of other hotels in the same price range but all had something not going right so I went for a safe bet and it was.

Great find in Montevideo
Nice hotel at good rate close to independence plaza, the center of the city. Friendly staff, and someone on duty who spoke English. I had no problem with my early morning check in. Would stay again.

Good hotel for the price
The hotel is well located. A lot of bums on the streets around it. It is hard to believe that the National Auditorium is across the street and they cannot keep it cleaner all around. Otherwise it is a great deal. Lots to do in the area.

Another good stay at the Orpheo Express Hotel
Spent the night again at Orpheo Express Hotel because of the wonderful location. The rooms are adequate and comfortable, breakfast service is good, and the staff are nice. We chose to stay here once again because we were happy with our choice the first time.

Recommended hotel in Montevideo city center
Although the rooms are on the small side, they are comfortable. Parking is not included and costs extra. Breakfasts are good and served in a relaxed atmosphere. The location is very central. Recommended.

Great hotel in a good location
I had a great experience at the hotel. The location is good, close to the old part of Montevideo. Staff is friendly and helpful and speaks English. They were also very helpful to book a tour for me. Overall, clean hotel with excellent value for money.

Quality all-around
Wifi was fast, room as in the pictures, modern and stylish. Pleasant ambiance and a safe neighborhood. Friendly, helpful staff. Underground and street parking, but street parking is notfor daytime, so you need to call ahead if you will need underground parking. Breakfast had a variety of fruits, drinks, deli meats, breads, yogurts, cereals, coffee, and different sweet spongecakes. Safe in room is not laptop size (not even macbook air) despite what is listed in the description. Would definitely stay again.

Great Location
The only thing to criticise is the street is rather noisy and traffic can be heard on the lower floors. Otherwise Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was abundant and fresh, room clean and comfortable. Overall recommendable.

An Orpheus nightmare
We were looking forward to our stay at this hotel. We had been in Argentina for three months visiting family. We wanted our last few days in South America to be relaxing. Upon arriving at the hotel, they asked for a credit card for a deposit. I handed them my debit card but they wouldn't accept it. They demanded that I pay cash for my deposit. I paid the requested 800 pesos. I was very angry at this point because it was the last of my cash budgeted for the trip. The room was filthy, you couldn't walk barefoot or your feet would turn black. To make things worse, the staff at the front desk were anything but friendly. Next time we go to Uruguay, you couldn't pay me to stay at this hotel.

Its all about location.. and if you can find another hotel try! The rooms are very small and the king size bed is very firm. After travelling for a month you get to know a comfy bed from a not so comfy. On the other hand the shower was the best I had in all of Argentina!

Good hotel well located for ferry and old town
We had a good stay in this hotel for 3 nights. It's close to independence square and only 20minutes or so walk from the port. This part of town is a bit scruffy and run down in general although we didn't experience feel unsafe. The hotel itself is clean and modern, some rooms are smoking so make sure you ask if you want a non-smoking room as we had to move (which they were very quick to help with. Even in our non room the bathroom still smelt a bit. The room itself was well appointed, modern and clean, but it was small. The gym is just two treadmills and a bike. Overall fair value for money in what is an incredible expensive city.

Fabulous!!!!
This is a studio apartment. Highly recommend for one night or one month. This apartment building is also operated as a hotel. The staff is outstanding! Service is also outstanding! The rooms with kitchenette are fully equipped for cooking. I wish we had found this place the fist time we were in BA.

Close to everything in downtown
Hotel is pretty new and modern design, rooms are small but comfortable, Bathroom need an extractor to get rid off humidity and steam from shower, the rooms started to smell strong humidity sense.

Excellent stay.
Excellent hotel right near all the main tourist spots in the central downtown core. Room was great very clean no complaints. Hotel take security very well which I was very impressed with. Wi-Fi in the hotel was a little flaky the first night but improved after that it was always stable anywhere we went. Overall a five out of five I really enjoyed this hotel
