“Fantastic and friendly!”

I had to pass through Colonia on the way back from a business trip to Montevideo. I was happy I did, in the end! The Colony Park Plaza Unique Hotel is also a spa resort. The rooms are gorgeous, the hotel fantastic to walk around. The staff were so helpful. I swam in both the indoor and outdoor pools, and in fact, though I had to check out, the staff let me us the pool until the end of that day! Colonia centre was a 30 minute walk away, down the river. I would definately go back to this relaxing spa hotel!!

“Nice spa, far from town”

We were pleasantly surprised with the amenities available in the Spa but a little disappointed with the restaurant. It was only open for dinner between 9:00 and 11:00 pm and with a small and pricey menu. There was no store or food in the mini-bar and being located a 15-20 minute walk from town it made it a little difficult. If you were to rent a golf cart, scooter or use the rental bikes (only available for 3 hours at a time) the hotel is a perfectly reasonable distance from town.

“Will stay somewhere else next time, closer to the old city.”

The public areas of this hotel were spacious and attractive. The restaurant was excellent with a friendly staff. But, if we were to return to Colonia we would want to be closer to the old city. The Radisson was far more conveniently located and was no more expensive. Colonia itself was wonderful and we would have had more to time to enjoy it if was had been staying right there. The Colony Park Plaza is not a resort unto itself so not conveniently located for us.

“no professional”

The hotel was not exactly what i expected. It did not merit 5 five stars. The service does not exist, the rooms are not really clean and the terrace was really durty.

“Go somewhere else”

The pools were not clean (milky waters) and the handrails were dangerously loose
