I was looking for someplace inexpensive to stay.

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The price
Cons: The room could be cleaner and the cosmetics could be improved.
Location: I went to the Utica Zoo. There were boat tours of the Mohawk River across the street, but I did not go.
I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay while I was volunteering for the Utica Boilermaker. I did not expect much, but there was no room services. I had to make my own bed and there was trash on the floor that had not been cleaned up from the prior people. There was road noise as the hotel is close to Mohawk Street and the NYS Thruway. The parking lot was small. I think it would be worth spending a little more money for a better place.

Avoid at all costs

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Staff
This hotel should be avoided at all costs. 1st the hotel is not nearly as nice as represented. 2nd when I arrived and was unsatisfied with the conditions the hotel staff was very rude. We agreed that I would stay somewhere else and that my card would not be billed, however my card was billed. When I called to get a refund again the staff was very rude and refused to issue the refund. At this point I am still being charged for a stay that never actually happened. In fairness Expedia has gone out of their way to try and help me.

THE MOTEL IS AN OLD ONE AND UPON ENTERING WE WERE EXTREMLEY CONCERNED ABOUT STAYING THERE. mY HUSBAND REQUESTED TO SEE THE ROOM (STAFF WAS CORDIAL & TOOK US IN TO PREVIEW BEFORE WE SECURED THE ROOM). STAFF SHOWED US THE MATTRESS & BOXSPRINGS WERE NEW . SEEING THIS AND BRIGHT WHITE CRISP LINEN'S NEW PILLOWS, BATHROOM WAS CLEAN, WE BOOKED FOR THE ONE NIGHT & IT WASN'T TERRIBLE JUST VERY OLD ESTABLISHMENT FRESHENED WITH PAINT. NO ODER'S OF MILDEW WERE PRESENT ALTHOUGH UPON ENTERING THE BUILING DID SMELL OF CHLORINE (NO POOL) ON SITE.
