Unfortunately, your reservation was made for accommodations for 2 adults and 1 child, which aligns with the maximum capacity of the room you booked. Upon your arrival, however, we noted there were 2 adults and 3 children present. Regrettably, due to safety concerns, we cannot accommodate more guests than specified in the reservation.Despite this discrepancy, we made an exception to assist you in accommodating your additional childeren late at night, even though it contravened our policy. Superb hotel
Excellent hotel, great location. Just a few minutes walk from the canals, restaurants and bars and shops. The room was lovely and the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was first class and Bistro also. We will definitely return.

Fantastic 5 star hotel
The staff and Hotel Karel IV are amazing. The were so kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the pool and sauna are fantastic, the gym is great with water and towels provided, and the breakfast is amazing!!! This truly is the only real 5 star hotel in Holland with 5 star service. The location is very central, easily walk to the shops at the mall, in the city or to the train station. The best place to stay.

5 star hotel close by Utrecht Central Station. Walking distance to the city centre. Although the hotel is listed as a 5 star hotel, we didn't find this very accurate. Rooms outdated, not very clean, facilities (like the pool and sauna) very small and also totally outdated. Some positive points: decent breakfast with large selection (and homemade cakes) and friendly staff. Would not recommend this hotel, certainly not at the price that we've paid.

The outdoor property was beautiful and the location of the hotel excellent, in the heart of the city. The room was tired and in need of renovation, and a leaky shower was not repaired during my stay.

We never meant to stay here, but glad that we did!
We never meant to stay at the hotel, but a major issue at Schipol meant our flight was cancelled and along with thousands of other people we had to find somewhere to stay. All the hotels in Amsterdam were full but I'd read an article about Utrecht recently so we chose to stay there - and luckily there was room at the inn! We arrived late, but the staff were very helpful sorting out the room for me and my two sons. We eventually had to stay for four nights until we got a new flight. Throughout that time the staff were wonderfully helpful, and the kids loved the little details like lollies on a really hot day. We all loved the amazing breakfasts and the boys really enjoyed the swimming pool. All in all, I'd thoroughly recommend the hotel, it certainly was a silver lining to the disruption.

Classic, good breakfast, avoid ground floor
Good location - even with current construction in front. But avoid ground level rooms as they are too exposed to the construction noise, dust, dirt, and traffic. Breakfast buffet very good with a nice setting in a classic space. Cleanliness could be improved on housekeeping - and upkeep on sinks and shower could be improved to avoid leaking.
