“Best location in Vail Village”

We stayed 4 nights in the Village for a Thanksgiving visit with family. We had the least expensive room which was spacious with a great bed and linens. The best part was the underground parking which was $12/night -- far less than the public parking. The breakfast was fine-nothing fancy: cold cuta, pastriews, boiled eggs, yogurt cereals, juices, coffee. For skiers the hotel is a short walk to the Vail lifts.

“Europe in the US”

As close to being in Europe as you can get in the United States. Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Vail surrounded by shops, dining, and recreation including easy walk to ski lifts or river in summertime.

“I will return!”

I stayed here by myself for some R&R during the off season. It is a great place in the center of the village. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the rooms were clean. I will return in the future.

“Lovely hotel with superb staff”

A really lovely hotel, with a truly excellent staff, who go out of their way to help -- including ringing around to find a place that would fix a car problem immediately and giving invaluable assistance on alternative routes, given road closures.

“Great Value for Money”

We were in Vail for a couple of days this week planning our wedding which will be next year. We were looking about at much of the accommodation available and spent a night at the Gasthof. For the money it was unsurpassed in Vail in our opinion. We stayed in a basic room and found the premises to be absurdly clean – attention to detail in keeping the place clean and tidy given its age is to be commended. While generally you have to be generous with a place when it was built in 1964 it I unacceptable to have to accept a place that isn’t maintained well. We found the Gasthof to be very well maintained. Everything was clean and tidy and the best was done to make the most of the facilities at their current age. Add in the cost of accommodation in Vail in general and we were very impressed comparing its competition and its prime location right in the heart of Vail. All the staff were very welcoming and polite and the warm feel of a privately owned and operated facility ran through the entire experience. Don’t go expecting The Sebastian or Solaris, because it’s not what they are trying to do here.

“Great location but needs AC BAD”

Excellent hotel, charming, even lavish. Fantastic location. Major drawback was NO AC. On a hot august day it was hot and stuffy even in the middle of the night. It was cooler outside.

“Nice please to stay”

Enjoyed my stay very much...the bar smelled a bit funny but everything else about the Gramshammer, including location and price, was great. Would stay there again for sure.
