“We love this place for a fast, quick, easy get-a-way!”
We have been staying here for years and it is the perfect weekend get-a-way for us. Lots of great resturants and the rooms are very cozy but our favorite feature is the 7th story outside hot tube!
“Worth the price”
This was one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in. The people were very friendly. The room was more than I was expecting. It was a one bedroom suite. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable to sleep in. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.
“Clean, mountain, get-away”
This hotel will be luxury to some people and yet it isn't as 4 star as the new Westin down the street. However, no parking fees and no resort fees and we loved our room. You can even escape out the side doors if you don't want to talk to the concierge about the 1.5 hour $100 paid lecture about buying properties....but if you do want to talk to the concierge, Brad is great!! A+ Our room was spotless. The only thing I didn't like was the lid on the toilet paper. We stayed at the Westin the next night just to check it out and the spa, locker rooms, swimming pool, hot tubs, and flat screen tvs were the upgrade there. But really, for us, not really worth the extra $40 in hotel fees plus possibly higher nightly rates? The Westin is brand new. The Sheraton is being maintained and upgraded nicely. Great for some, not enough luxury for others. We loved the park nearby - paddle boats, trail around the lake, rec ctr. etc.
“will make a return trip!”
Great property, nice people, convenient and good value!
“Blame the architectural engineers”
This hotel is well priced in the Avon/Vail area. For skiers who don't mind some walking, it is within about 3 block lengths of the convenient gondola that leaves from the Westin Riverfront to ride onto the mountain at Beaver Creek. Very nice staff. The hotel suffers from poor design, however. Rooms are small, dimly lit (in the Colorado sunny climate!) and most importantly, hot. We were on the second floor in March and were told by front desk staff to open doors and turn on the fans to cool our rooms. While waiting for checkout, I heard front desk staff tell another guest this was the number one complaint about the hotel. In this age of energy awareness, this is inexcusable. Also, when will designers wake up to 3 in aperture toilets? People in high altitudes who are exercising often have trouble with backups in standard 2 inch toilet outflows. (This information from my informal Colorado skier survey.) Three inches to flush through saves water and prevents backups. The maintenance guy who came to our room was hilarious over this problem. Overall, good folks, poor design, good value for this expensive ski area.
“Well rounded friendly hotel”
This is an excellent hotel with extremely friendly staff. The rooms are sufficiently large and comfortable and very clean. The room rate was very reasonable and the hotel restaurant provided an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is located close to I25 and is convenient to many colorado springs attractions such as the garden of the gods, seven falls and pikes peak. Also, only about 45 minutes to Denver.
“Off the money trail”
I attended a conference in Vail and decided to try Avon instead of staying at the higher end hotels in Vail. I was VERY pleasantly surprised with my Villa and am glad I stayed in Avon. My colleagues paid twice what I paid and their rooms were no comparison to mine. I enjoyed the view ,jacuzzi tub and the fireplace. I will stay here again !
“Nice place”
We stayed at the Sheraton Mountain Vista for 1 night at the last minute. We booked a 1 bedroom suite for my husband and I and my son. The place was perfect for the 3 of us with a bedroom and a pull out couch. The room was quite clean and althought the kitchen wasn't a full kitchen, it worked out just fine for us. The kitchenette had a small dishwasher, 3/4 size refrigerator, and a microwave. There was also a grill on the deck. Parking was underground and was no problem. The Sheraton is conveniently located in Avon near the I-70 exit and close to grocery stores, etc. The gates to Beaver Creek are less than 5 minutes away. We had a good experience and would stay here again.
“Avon getaway”
Great place to stay and play. Easy location to everything in Avon and short drives to Vail and Beaver Creek. The Westin is a very short walk with a great up-scale bar and food. Also the food at Bob's place is very good and priced well, plus awesome place to catch any game. I really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub high up on the roof. Can't wait to go back.
“will go back”
the only problem that I came accross while I stayed at this hotel was that the water in the shower barely got warm. When I brought it up to the staff while I was checking out, they did not seem very concerned.
