Simba RunPosted Apr 13, 2015
We enjoyed staying at Sumba Run. The two bedroom was plenty of space for my family of five. It had everything we needed. My kids enjoyed the heated pool. It was close to Lionshead and the grocery store is also close by.

Economical yet convenient alternative to VillagePosted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Ski lockers, large outdoor hot tub, complimentary coffee/cocoa, and DVDs. Covered garage parking for a nominal fee.
Cons: Our unit was a bit dated but had a well-appointed kitchen, was clean and comfortable. The hwy noise is noticeable when windows are opened.
Loved the private shuttle, which you catch just outside the ski lockers in the covered garage and is a quick ride to the mountain. We rarely waited more than a couple of minutes for the shuttle. You could get by without a car here as the shuttle does grocery store runs and operates into the evening if you want to take advantage of Vail's restaurants/shopping.

Perfect for Family VacationPosted Mar 24, 2015
Location: A short shuttle ride into town. Shuttles also went to grocery store 5 minutes away. Nice addition.
Condos are a 5-7 minute shuttle to Lionshead or Vail Village. Shuttles ran regularly and all the drivers were very pleasant. The pool was surprisingly large and very nice. Cleaning service came in every day with new towels, soaps and coffee. That was a nice unexpected service that I guess I overlooked. Beds were comfy and the condo was overall nice. Location right off the highway wasn't as noisy as we expected. 2 bdrm and 2 bath worked out well. We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying there again.

Not bad across the highway from townPosted Mar 24, 2015
Not to bad for the price. Condo 1207 is the one we stayed in. Condos vary by owner so I cannot comment on the other rooms. 1207 was clean but dated. Carpet was worn and downstairs was musty. still had a VCR and BOomboxes in the bedrooms.LOL Did have nice LED TV's and DVD players. Free rental DVDs from a machine in the lobby. Current titles it was like a redbox for free. Nice pool and hot tub area. Shuttle drivers were great. JR (Stetson hat) great guy very friendly took great care of us. Only downside is that you have to drive or take a shuttle to town center. Unless you want about a mile hike.

5th Time, Slightly Less Good than Previous 4Posted Mar 22, 2015
My family and I come to Vail every March for Spring Break. Since my wife insists on cooking and we have 3 11 year olds this is a great family place. Previous units have been much better set-up in the kitchen. While the unit (1427) was very nice they really need basic kitchen tools and a barbecue to cook off of. Even serving utensils weren't there.

Excellent value in VailPosted Mar 15, 2015
Of course ski in / ski out is always ideal, but the convenience of Simba Run's 2 private shuttle buses is a very close 2nd. We typically only waited 1-3 min., and once we waited 5 min. for the bus to the ski slopes. This feature, coupled with the savings at Simba Run, were our main reasons for choosing this property. The 2 bedroom, 1 floor unit we had was #1404. It's kitchen and bathrooms were nicely remodeled with a stackable washer/dryer. I called the day before to see if our unit had been upgraded, and it had been. The units are privately owned, so the decor is more personal than a hotel. Our unit had a nice modern leather sofa, love seat, and chair in the family room. The secondary bedroom had 2 twin beds, with a king in the master bedroom. Huge windows overlooked the mountains. The noise of the expressway could be heard inside the unit. An app that played white noise, like that of a fan, drowned out the road noise at night for those of use who were sensitive to that...just me. We didn't utilize the outdoor hot tub or Vail's largest indoor pool, but they looked nice. There are lockers for putting on/off ski equipment before going up to your room. I would definitely go back. The amount we saved, compared to a one room hotel room at Cascade, paid for 3 days of lift tickets for our family of 4.
