Good but needs a little TLC

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Location, natural surrounding beauty, activities, relaxing.
Location: Bike trails in Edwards, restaurants - casual chic, wine country about 100 miles west.
Love the resort - but some things need maintenance/refreshing to be the resort that warrants four and five star status. Furniture is a little worns (couch) and carpet can be replaced. Overall - a gem! Love staying there.

Beautiful views, great price

Posted Apr 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
The views from everywhere are beautiful. We ate at the restaurant. Food was great with a view. Service was also wonderful. I wish check in was a bit earlier. 4:00 seems late. Room was very comfortable. It was large and had a fireplace. It was a great stay that we would do again. And the price was excellent.

Great family vacation!

We recently stayed at Cordillera and had a wonderful experience. Our favorite part was the convenient shuttle to Beaver Creek (thanks , Brian), and the slope side club that we were able to use. It was nice to be able to leave our ski equipment there over night. The food at Cordillera was excellent. We also enjoyed meals in front of the fireplace! We would definitely stay here again.

Breathless views, like a retreat in the Alps!

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Everthing.
Cons: More shuttles, a gluten-free menu for children, for example Applegate chicken nuggets, which are also dairy, egg, and nut-free.
Location: Cordillera is about 15 minutes from Beaver creek, 30 in traffic from Vail, and 5 minutes from the mountain town Edwards, with a nature museum!
Our stay at Cordillera was excellent. We love skiing the nearby resorts, but especially as city dwellers, we crave a quiet place at the end of the day. Cordillera is about 15 minutes from Beaver creek, 30 in traffic from Vail, and is perched high on a mountain with simply breathless views of the entire mountain range, complete with birds, and small mammal citings! The conditions, staff friendliness and helpfulness were unparalleled, as they even cooked our picky gluten-free child's pasta in their elite restaurant for us. The rooms are large and beautiful - we booked 2 for a family of 5 but actually spent most of our time in just one! Can't wait to return.

We can’t wait for your return as well! We’re glad you were able to enjoy our peaceful, scenic atmosphere. Gluten-free has become a way of life for many people and we understand the importance of offering these items. We will look into a better offering of gluten-free products for our younger guests, and we are thrilled that our chefs were able to accommodate your child’s needs. Thank you for a fantastic review of The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera.

Great retreat

I would highly recommend this property if you want to truly get away in luxury. Great rooms, beautiful location, and an "aah" type of experience. Unfortunately a winter storm crippled the property during our stay, causing them to be grossly understaffed. I do not believe this is normal for this 5-star resort. But the lack of staff limited our experience (valet, restaurants, shuttles, etc. were all on limited operations, and no room service was available due to restaurant limitations.) Again, likely not a consistent problem here. I'd go back to try it again in the future.
