Expensive, overpriced hotel and not worth the cost

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: The location and scenery
Cons: Better beds, pillows, and better customer service
Location: Golf although we were just there to attend a wedding
When we arrived the staff was nice, however our room was not yet ready, something about the "latch not working". We were in the area for our nephew's wedding so we told them we would return following the celebration. When we returned much later that night we were given our keys and went up to our room. The room smelled of smoke, not cigarette smoke but strong fireplace smoke. It was overwhelming and I honestly didn't think I could sleep in the room but we were exhausted from our long drive, the wedding and the celebration afterwards with family so we just stuck it out. Worst night I have ever had, room was so overwhelmed with the smoke smell, the bed was as hard as a rock, the pillows were too thick and made my neck hurt. After a miserable night, we checked out and complained to the front desk, especially about the smoke. They told us that the room directly below ours had started a fire in the fireplace but did not open the flume and consequently flooded not only their room with smoke but the rooms above, including ours!! WHAT! You have got to be kidding me! Not only did they know about this BEFORE we returned that evening but they actually thought it was okay to just stick us in that room. No one, at anytime, ever said a word about the incident, nor did they put us in a different room. I would not waste my money at this place ever again!!!!

Beautiful stay

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: The views, the quality of the amenities, the restaurant and staff.
Cons: It would have been nice to have access to a secure computer to check in for my flight (required a credit card for checked bags).
Location: Glenwood canyon and springs is a nice drive and a good hiking area.
Great place to stay and relax. The road up to hotel can be a bit scary in heavy snow, but it's worth the drive.

Beautiful/secluded location in the mountains of CO

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Location and ambiance.
Cons: Staff service
Location: Read the Vail Daily for coupons and Trip Advisor for suggestions of what to do in the area. Try Zino's restaurant in Edwards.
We were disappointed in our assigned room since we had read that all rooms had a deck/patio and ours did not. We had a very bad experience with breakfast in the dining room where we waited almost an hour for cold food. We did speak with the manager and she offered to work with us to improve our stay. We were pleased that she considered our concerns. SA night at 11 PM maintenance crew were vacuuming as we tried to sleep. Staff needs to be trained in several areas. Fall colors were spectacular! Nice spot to get away from it all.

girls getaway

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Views are priceless, location is amazing, beds were nice and comfortbale
Cons: hotel needs new carpet, spa area needs some updating, TV's need to be updated.
The hotel is beautiful and the view are priceless! The hotel is starting to show some wear and needs new carpet. The rooms were great, comfy beds etc... one of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because of the spa... The spa also needs some updating, the women's' dressing room had a foul sewer odor both days we were there and the locker room was messy and unkempt. Overall we had a great time but with all of the other great places in the Vail Valley to stay, I don't know that we will return, we will try a new place instead.

Nice hotel, disappointing service

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Beautiful view, hiking trails nearby, nice beds and shower.
Cons: The food service definitely needs improvement if they want return customers.
The hotel room and property was very nice, clean and comfortable. Beautiful views and hiking trails nearby. The low rating comes from the restaurant and staff. We were there in the summer so it was very quiet. They may not have been staffed appropriately. We had breakfast there twice. The first day our order took 45 min for an order of Eggs Benedict and a smoothie. The second day, we didn't have much time, so ordered egg sandwiches and smoothies to go. They were not ready at the time we requested, and the order was wrong. The staff was polite, just not efficient or accurate. Not a terrible experience, but disappointing.

Pros: Scenery
Cons: This lodge needs major renovation. It is warn down and old. It gives a feeling being umncleaned, poorly maintained.
Location: We came here to play golf. There is NOTHING else here to do. NADA!
Hotel has plenty of staff. If you are looking for warmth and hospitality, you will not find it here. They smile and say the right things but do nothing. They are cold like a frog. If you like run down skiing lodge, you got it! The only thing that is luxurious about this place is its price.

No refrigerator in room. Constant problems with wifi and nice, but overworked staff slow to respond. Windows and outside table dirty. Toilette low, like for child. :(. :(. :( GORGEOUS MOUNTAIN VIEW. Next time will just go for lunch to enjoy view.
