Our use of this apartment is likely to be unusual. We booked just two nights as a rest day (in the middle of one week) during a walking tour of the Vanoise National Park. It was disconcerting to find that no-one is in attendance on Wednesdays (the day we arrived) but we were let into a lovely apartment by the caretaker and found everything we needed. The lady on the desk the following morning was extremely helpful and was able to answer all our questions. There is included use of an excellent swimming pool. For the two of us the cost was a little under £50 a night. Val D'Isere is relatively quiet during the summer and this block of apartments had occupants in only a small proportion of the rooms, but there is lots to do in the area if you have an active family.

Hotel Altitude is a an excellent three-star lodging with great continental breakfast and a really good restaurant for an evening meal.
The hotel is directly across from Val d'Isere's Olympic gondola lift and close to the Solaise bubble chair lift. It is an easy 5-to-10-minute walk to town centre.
Staff was very nice and helpful. The room was small but nice, with an excellent remodeled bath.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is close to the main lifts (<10 min walk), and you can ski back to it at the end of the day.
The owner was very helpful in providing information on where to ski/ride and what to do, as well as even chatting with us after dinner.
We had dinner at the hotel one evening (not included), and the meal was excellent. My raclette, which is their specialty was delicious, and I would recommend dining there at least once during your stay.
The hotel also has parking, as well as lockable storage for skiis/boards/boots etc.

The apartments are located reasonably centrally, within skiboot-walking distance of the bus station, shops, bars and main lifts. There is free, unlimited WiFi in the main reception area of the apartment block. However, the interior of my apartment was a little wornout. It could have done with some new carpets, a lick of paint, and draft-proofing for the doors and windows. Overall, I would recommend the apartments because they are well located. But you must go there with the mindset that these are budget apartments and you get what you pay for.

If you intend on being out skiing all day then this hotel is ideal. Whilst the room was not generous in size it was plenty for two people. Comfy beds and hot water a plenty. Cooking facilities limited (two electric hobs) but plenty of restaurants around to eat out and shops had large range of food that can be cooked without an oven.
Only downside was not much storage space for clothing.
Remember to take own towels and bed linen as there is an additional charge for these items
