Good valuePosted Sep 23, 2013
Hotels in Zermatt are expensive, so I was looking in the direction of lower prices, assuming that I would not get the quality I'd like. I was really surprised-- the room was spotless and opened on to a terrace with a great view of the Matterhorn. I don't see how it could have been better.

Loved Hotel Bristol!Posted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a great hotel in a great location. It's very central to all of the restaurants and bars in town, and only a 5 minute walk to the gondola. There is a small store below the hotel where you can get some grocery basics and wine/beer. The rooms are clean, beds are super comfy and the breakfast is great! I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Zermatt.

Nice hotelPosted Jun 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed 3 nights in a triple room. The hotel is quite a walk from the train station, but doable without the porter/taxi since our suitcases had wheels. The breakfast was very good with a nice selection and we found the staff helpful. The room was just OK. The mattresses were very hard and the room was hot unless the windows were open at night in spite of 50F/10C lows each night. Some young people had a party outside in the street until 2 or 3am the first night which kept us up with the open window. We really liked the touchscreen information panel in the lobby. We could find out all we needed to know about the train, cable cars, weather, web cams, etc. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. We just wish the beds were more comfortable.

Great Hotel, gorgeous views, great locationPosted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
The town of Zermatt is simply gorgeous. This hotel is just at the top of the main street and across the river. The views from the Matterhorn facing balconies are right out of a postcard. The hotel has been recently updated or is just fanatically maintained, but it feels new, clean & fresh. Very comfortable sized rooms, largest we had in Europe and a comfortable bathroom. Zermatt is a gem, so clean, pleasant, and gorgeous. The electric "cabs" are interesting, but you don't need them to get anywhere from the Bristol, we walked to the train station with our luggage in 8 minutes, all the streets are pedestrian walkways. The staff is great, while the Swiss are not as friendly and outgoing overall like Italians, they are pleasant and the staff is knowledgeable.
