Great place for Zermatt on a budget.Posted Mar 8, 2013
Stayed here with my son and his girlfriend -- snowboarding trip for them. They met three other boarders to hit the slopes with and had a great time. Hostel had everything we needed, beds were comfortable, price great for Zermatt. View of the Matterhorn right out the door! Hostel provided 10% discount for renting equiipment. Good place to stay when on a budget.

Not up to usual expectations of Swiss hostels - mixed dorms only, stairs very narrow and winding (no lifts), showers only in basement, communal sinks in hallway, had to buy sheets and towels, blankets appeared to be used from one person to another, rooms with no locks, basement door left open at night....On plus side: staff tried to be very accommodating and location was good in a very good neighborhood. (Don't think there is a bad neighborhood in Zermatt!!) Wouldn't recommend to a friend but the price was good for the area.

Surprise Surprise... No BuenoPosted Jan 25, 2012 on Hotels.com
We were told the 4 of us would get one room with 4 beds total (there were 4 of us and we wanted privacy). Upon arriving, we were directed to a hotel room with 8 beds which meant we had 4 roommates. This was totally unexpected and a huge let down.

Good hostel for those on a budgetPosted Jul 24, 2011 on Hotels.com
My wife and i stayed on the top floor which was cozy and basic room. Beds were clean and personal lockers per bed were reasonably secure. Service was pleasant and efficient. TV room, shower areas, internet etc were very basic but met expectations. Free wireless was very much appreciated. Recommend to spend the few euros extra on breakfast. Lack of electricity sockets was annoying for larger shared areas where there was 1 socket for 8 persons. Overall state of the hostel showed its age but compared to other hostels this met the average level that i have experienced. Lastly, recomment to be at the hostel some mins before the strict 4pm check in time to avoid long wait or then come some time afterwards when the queue has died down.

There was shared washroom. No separate washrooms for men and women.
