nice hotel, good value, excellent viewsPosted Jun 23, 2010
The Allalin was my favorite hotel during a recent two-week drive through parts of Europe. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was good, the rooms were comfortable, but most of all the views of the Matterhorn (from those rooms facing the Matterhorn) were excellent. The room rental rate was also reasonable, especially considering the Swiss franc exchange rate. Caveat: there is active construction to the immediate south of the hotel, which may at least partially obstruct the currently excellent views.

Wow! What A View!Posted Jul 30, 2006
When we arrived in our hotel room, we went immediately to the balcony and WOW! What a great view! There stood the Matterhorn in all its glory. From our 3rd story view, we could also see the small river that runs through Zermatt and neighboring quaint buildings. The rooms here are beautiful - I think the whole hotel has been undergoing a facelift, but you can't tell - it all looks and smells brand new! There is wood everywhere - in the hallways, on every ceiling, the doorframes, etc. Service was also excellent. The breakfast is fantastic; no skimping here. Various breads, jams, meats, egg dishes and juices plus more! I would heartily recommend this hotel!
