Definitely more hotel than hostelPosted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Rooms were quiet and clean.
Cons: The pillows were very stiff and a bit small.
Location: Right in the core of the downtown area, short walk from train station, about 45 min walk from City of Arts and Science.
With ensuite bathrooms and balcony in each room, Hostal Venecia exceeds expectations and should really be considered a hotel. There was a small language barrier so the conversations with front desk felt a bit abrupt, but for the most part got the message across.

City breakPosted Mar 4, 2014
I booked the Hostel Venecia for it's location and price. It is ideal for a short stay in Valencia. Although it is a hostel by definition, it is smartly decorated and adequately furnished to the standard of a moderately rated hotel. The hostel is located on one of the main squares and is only two minutes walk from from the train station and within easy walking distance of the historical sights of the city.

Beautiful hotel with great locationPosted Feb 17, 2014
Location: The tourista bus was a great way to see the whole town of valencia in 2 days.
Hostel Venecia was a beautiful hotel with the perfect location. It was central to all historical sights as well as many restaurants and cafes. The view from the room was breathtaking overlooking the fountain in the center of town. The only down side to its central location was it was a little noisy at night, however, it was worth it. The room was extremely spacious and clean. The hotel staff could not have been nicer. The young lady at the front desk answered all of our questions and always directed us perfectly. She even told us of a free shuttle bus to the renfe station. Also, on our last day we were able to secure our luggage in a private locker.

Fantastic locationPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: Location is great. The common computer room even has a microwave which we took advantage of for one of our paella takeout meals.
Cons: We had requested a room with a double bed but got one with 2 twin beds instead. This seemed quite common in hostals in Spain.
Location: Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The central market and many historical buildings and cathedrals within easy walking distance.
This is a charming hotel in a fantastic location, right in the old city. The room was simple, comfortable and spotless. There are restaurants and bars all around which can contribute to the noise level but it didn't really affect our stay.

Fantastic location, lovely rooms and cleanPosted Sep 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Would definitely stay there again if I go back to Valencia. The location was perfect, the rooms were lovely and clean. And the price is great.

Amazing deal in ValenciaPosted Jun 30, 2013
Can't believe this hotel is only rated 2 stars! For the cheap price you pay, you get a clean modern room for which I would have paid twice that much. The hotel is located right in the middle of town at Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Staff is efficient, breakfast is decent. All in all, one of the best deals I've encounted in Europe.

Very impressedPosted Jun 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
I felt my room at Hostal Venecia was great- super location, nice view, clean, comfortable, friendly staff - I even liked it better than the "higher end" hotel down the street where my friends were staying!

First rate Value & ServicePosted Sep 27, 2012
Pros: No frills the right way
Cons: Local restaurants scraping their tables about at 1:00am
Location: Can't get much more central than this.
Very friendly and extremely helpful staff, despite our appalling Spanish (they all spoke English). This is a superb example of how to do a "no frills" hotel. 5 mins from main rail station and metro to airport, 5 mins to centre of Valencia. Great view of the fountains out front too. We also were able to leave our luggage in their lockers, after we checked out, so we could spend some more time exploring, came back, used loos, checked e-mails before heading away. Definitely up for a return trip.
