Central Location

Pros: Location is really good.
Cons: Building needs a complete overhoul, receptionist's need to be more caring and a little bit better with English.
Location: Park of Arts and Science, Beaches, Town Center, Turia Gardens, Train Station
The location of the hotel is good for seeing both Park of Art and Science, historical centre and the beach side. Eventhough I sent an e-mail saying that our stay will be a part of honey moon before going there, nothing happened not even a congralations. Second day of my stay we woke up quiate late and I called the reception telling them that I needed an urgent taxi to be able to catch the train all they said was ok. When we reached the reception, the guy just said that I could find a taxi on the opposite side of the street. 4th day we found a cockroach in the bathroom and they were nice enough to change our room. And last day they were nice enough to print our boarding passes since their business center computers were out of service. Overall, If you expect more than a place to sleep this is not what you are looking for. The situation of the building is bad and you can see it both from outside and inside the rooms. But it is ok if you are planning to spend most of your time outside and use the hotel only for sleeping.

2 Night stay

The Hotel was very good value for the money on offer 28 pounds per night. The location was actually very good, it was 30 minutes walk from the station and we walked all over the city. The room was pretty decent in size with a nice bathroom space. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice base in a well suited location. The staff at reception were helpfull and sent a toothbrush up which I had forgot to pack. The breakfast had a nice selection of cereals but perhaps the hot food could have been a tad warmer if I was being picky. We went for a football weekend and visited Levante UD for the Barca match and also went to the Villarreal match v Luga which is about an hour on the train.

Certainly one to return to !

It was a last minute booking so wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel looks good, the staff were friendly and, I think, my only complaint was that the room I got was a little down-at-heel and probably reserved for those who'd got a late deal. (Other rooms looked great.) I only had breakfast..... which was good and plentiful; set me up for looking round the city very well. It's close to the tour bus stop and 15 minutes stroll from the Alameda Metro station; I walked there and back on both arrival and departure trips to the airport. Overall, I'd happily go back again.....

Good base for a few nights!

I am rating the hotel based on the price I paid, which was a very good rate and therefore I was extremely happy with what I found. It was 25 mins walk from the marina, 15mins from the Palace of Fine Arts and about 25 from the old town so for me in the middle of everything I wanted to see!

Soundly good, not sparkling; research the location

Good standard of accommodation, verging on very good. The hotel was a little tired. The pool was a boon, if a little small. Breakfast was excellent, and staff very helpful. The location is close to the Arts and Science Centre but not the old town; not a problem if you don't mid walking. The wonderful Turia gardens provide excellent walking for 9km towards and round the old town. Eating out near the hotel was fairly limited and metro a bit of a hike. A good place to stay if you are clear about the location and want good value.

Disappointing
Posted Jan 3, 2012
I booked 2 rooms at Beatriz Rey Don Jaime. Our room was missing the safe and hotel room information, and the bathroom sink and toilet leaked. My son's room had problems with the shower in which faucet detached from the wall. The staff at the front desk was not receptive to questions. The night bus tour driver refused to wait 1 minute for my son to come downstairs, therefore we did not get the experience of the night tour. During my vacation of 8 days, I spent time in 3 hotels and 1 hostel. The stay in this 4 star hotel was the worse compared to the others which did not share the same rating.

Tips for the easy going traveler

Pros: easy access to the ATM and taxi
Cons: restaurant price and lack of variety
Location: easy spot to chill and easy to get around to various locations in Valencia.
The wireless is the best bet when using this hotel don’t try the cable in the room while there. The hotel restaurant wasn’t worth the price that was charged for dinner. If staying at the hotel more than 2 evenings their buffet dinner gets old as well. Otherwise the staff and service were excellent. There are always taxis available (at all hours of the night and day). There is also a free shuttle that goes to the beach every hour from 1030-1430 and picks you up from 1630-1930. The hotel is not too far from the main sites of Valencia; an easy taxi ride or decent walk depending on what you want to see. Also there is an ATM directly across the street from the taxi spot, all right outside this hotel.
