Overnight stay on the way back to Ireland
Receptionist was a Bit grumpy and did not welcomed us. One of these days. Room service was ok - but on the expensive side in relation to portion. Taste and freshness was good

Good overnight stop
Comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Second visit but still had problems finding the hotel - no signage at ground level and difficult to see in the dark! Lousy directions from Google Maps didn't help.

Nice standard
Nice hotel, you can walk to the centre. Parking is exspensive and only two cars used it, around 40parking bays! Cheaper parking in current times would be €8 not €15.

Ideal stopover hotel and much, much more!
We booked the hotel as a stopover en route from Southern Spain to the ferry at Santander. We had stayed at other nh hotels in Spain and we weren't disappointed with the Balago. We arrived around 8 pm after a 500 mile trip and found that our car with a roof box would not go into the underground car park! Pedro on the front desk was brilliant and organised safe parking outside the hotel. While we were unloading the car he prepared the meals we ordered from the vending machines in the lobby so we were able to eat in our room and relax before enjoying a sleep in the HUGE beds - two 4 ft beds! We had a substantial continental breakfast in the morning and continued our journey fully refreshed. We shall continue to book nh hotels whenever possible as they provide a quality service at a very reasonable price and the staff are always attentive, friendly and helpful.

Grat location
Looked after me very well despite the additional restrictions and policies put on place due to Coronavirus alert. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Hotel underground parking perfect too with large spaces . I would definitely stay again.

We have stayed with our dog 12 times and been very happy Until this time then,to be turned away as Their policy has changed , after a long drive , was not aware so had to find another hotel, with the help of the Hotel receptionist who was nice

The reception staff could not have been more helpful.The room was spacious, clean, well equipped, and very quiet. I cannot fault the stay and would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Our double room was very nice but unfortunately, smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Rooms need to be vetted by someone before next guests arrive. We were given an alternative twin room which did not have the tea/coffee facilities that the previous room offered and the receptionist wasn't prepared to rectify this. Overall, disappointing.

Hotel is actually quite good, but by far and away it is the staff in this hotel which make it somewhere I will return when next in the area. The gentleman who checked me in was very professional, pleasant and extremely helpful. I am currently trying to learn Spanish, and after telling him this he lkindly tried to speak in as much Spanish as possible, but slowly and clearly and then explaining in English also. This type of assistance is VERY useful when trying to learn a new language, but it was also very welcoming to have that mutual respect. Parking is available at the hotel, it is located underneath and is private to the Hotel. Breakfast in the morning was good, plentiful selection of different breakfast foods. Overall the hotel was excellent value for money, tastefully decorated with pleasant staff. Only one minor criticism was the temperature in the room was quite thought to control.

A very nice hotel in a little bit of the beaten track. It has no bar. Restaurant closed on a sunday a twenty minute walk into the city centre in a seedy end of town. My friends who are Spanish advised us to get a tsxi back to hotel when out

An excellent choice. However, we would have liked some detailed directions, so that I didn't have to rely on slightly confusing Sat Nav. Breakfast was very good, and the receptionist was very well informed about the neighbourhood. We also liked the very generous-sized bed.

A quality hotel -an ideal stopover enroute from Santander Ferry to Madrid & Med.
Like all NH hotels I have visited - well designed rooms huge beds and spacious well lit and equipped bathrooms- excellent value but garage car parking is expensive

El proceso de check-in fue muy eficiente, nos dieron la habitación más temprano de lo esperado y la atención en recepción fue adecuada. La habitación es espaciosa y cómoda y todo estaba muy limpio. Exelente opción para hospedarse en Valladolid porque aunque no está en el centro, la parada de autobús está a solo 2 minutos andando o se puede andar perfectamente al centro en menos de 20 minutos. Además el hotel cuenta con parking, haciendo la estancia aún más cómoda para los que vamos en coche. Sin duda repetería.
