“A hidden gem”

We were delighted to find this hidden gem of a hotel and delighted at the standard of the hotel We picked up a car at the airport and found it very useful as the hotel is set at the back of the town in a very quiet location. We had a twin room of a very good size, with good beds. They were not full 3 foot twins but we slept well,towels and linen were regularly changed and our spacious ensuite bathroom was spotless.The pool was beautifully clean but deep with no shallow end so not really suitable for children. The service was very friendly and caring especially when we mislaid our car keys. Breakfast was beautiful bread rolls with ample choices of butter and jam but nothing savoury.For the chocaholics there were warm pain-au- chocolate of different types every day.Unfortunately there was no option of ordering eggs or other savouries as extras. here were several restaurants in the town and we enjoyed particularly the Rigoletto on the main road where the owner was a charming and lively Belgian lady who spoke 8 languages. We loved the area, the beach was 8 km of golden sand and hardly developed at all but next time we go as we are sure we shall, we shall self cater as it was so frustrating to see such wonderful fruit and veg in the shops and at roadside stalls but yet find nothing very much in the way of vegetables amongst the heap of mainly carbohydrate based offerings in the restaurants

“Back to the basics!”

Hotel Ariadimari is pretty much a 'no-frills' place but budget wise was better compared to other hotels and provided a lovely haven for our stay in Valledoria. The rooms are very basic but adequate and it's really quiet - all the guests respected that. Staff are unassuming even shy and there were absolutely no hassles the whole time we were there. There's a great little swimming pool and you can lounge around all day - watch the usual hawks who put their towels on the sun loungers dead early in the morning to reserve them. Breakfast is croissants, coffee and juice and is notionally served from 8 till 10.30 a.m. but they ran out of croissants one morning just after 10 and that was it folks! There's quite a few parking spaces but you might end up on the road outside -be careful cos I had the aerial snapped off my hired car, I think because I'd parked a bit carelessly.

“Good value for money”

This hotel itself was really nice. It was nice clean and the service provided by the owner (and his wife) was very good. The breakfast could have been better. They only serve bread roll, Jam coffee. We went to Sardinia out of season and the "Valledoria" town was like a 'dead' town. There is only one restaurant and it was closed one evening. But when they are open the food and the hospitality is excellent. Lot of bars near-by and the drinks are cheap. You must have a rented car to go any where. If you want a really really quite place then Sardinia (out of season) is ideal.

“Quiet & relaxed”

a little bit away from the main street so quiet and relaxing especially with the added bonus of the pool. would definately recommend a stay here as a base for travelling around the area
