Better than we expected

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Pros: The hotel has clean rooms, fun pool, lots of games similar to a Las Vegas casino.
Cons: The only room for improvement might be to have lower priced tables (like $1 to $5)that people who don't want to lose several hundred dollars can play.
Location: We went up to Palomar Observatory which was interesting.
This hotel was perfect for us. We have an 8 year old who loved the lazy river, so we got there early, was able to check in early around 1p.m. and then the next day we left our bags with the front desk and went back to the lazy river. If you have kids, this is a great little getaway.

Mostly good stay

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Our stay at Harrah's was nice except for not getting the room we paid for. At check-in, we were told our options were either a king bed/non smoking or 2 queens/smoking. When booking on expedia, I booked and paid for a 2 queen/non smoking. Felt like we were given last priority because we booked through a third party. Not sure if it's a problem I need to address with Harrah's or Expedia. Maybe it's written in the fine print. Regardless, a little disappointed.

Did not accommodate our request for 2 queen beds

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Waited in line to check in for almost an hour! Then when we finally get to check in we are informed that they can only give us a one king bed or a smoking room. I booked the room in advance so I can get a non smoking 2 beds since it was a special day for my daughter as I was taking her to a concert. They were suppose to call up a roll away bed & it never arrived. Dissapointed

Nestled in a beautiful location with mountain view

Posted Jun 14, 2015
This is our second stay here and it was warm enough to use the pools. The lazy river is so much fun for adults and kids alike. There ate several waterfalls throughout the area and hot tubs for days. My favorite area is the swim up bar. They do have happy hours there until three or four. Room was updated, and clean. The beds were not the most comfortable as me and my husband both woke up sore. Bathroom has large stand in shower and soak in jacuzzi tub. The drive in was beautiful with lots of farmers stands so bring cash. I love this place. Front desk check in was quite a wait, but the service from the bell men to valet was fantastic. A word of advice- dont wait too long to eat. We got caught up in the casino and all that was left open was pink's hotdogs. Everything else closes pretty early. Can't wait to return!

Good option to poor hotel choices in Escondido

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Views, dining options, very large rooms, beautiful design and furnishings.
Cons: Harrah's IS a casino hotel. Check-in is in the middle of the casino floor and I could smell light smoke, even on the 19th floor.
Location: Surrounded by citrus and avocado groves, close to Palomar Mountain Observatory, reasonable drive to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Just a short drive from Escondido, but worlds apart in hotel quality. Beautiful area, excellent rooms, and great pricing (last minute in particular). Two issues with my stay: elevators were extraordinarily slow (two out of four were not working) and I couldn't get consistent hot water for my shower in the morning.

Pros: EVERYTHING.
Cons: The slot machines don't pay. Even though this the hotel was by far the best. We were really disappointed in the slots. We do not plan on returning.
Location: The Resort was out in the middle of no where. Did not notice a lot of things to do near by.
We are traveling from California to Texas. We stayed overnight in hotels along the way. 1 night at Harrah's. One night at a casino in Arizona and the other in a hotel in Texas. This hotel was by far the very best of the 3. First class all the way.

We had reservations for one night but we were so happy with the room and the food and the staff...we stayed an extra night. It was so much more than we were expecting!

Best pool ever

Posted May 23, 2015
Awesome rooms very comfortable an spacious. Had a pool view which was great as well. Bathroom has the deepest tub I have ever used at a hotel also has a separate stand up shower, my favorite hotel bathroom ever. Beds are comfortable too I slept like a rock. The pool is the best pool ever, only Disney world or watermarks can compare to this pool great lazy river, in pool bar concerts and stages many hot tubs as well. Casino floor is full of all the games I love as well.
