We recently had a wonderfuly relaxing stay at the the charming Nisbet Plantation Resort. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and attentive. Everyone immediately addressed you by your first name. We were attending a friend's wedding and nothing was too much trouble which helped to make their day so special. Everything from breakfast by the beach to dinner in The Great House where Nelson had lived was lovely. You just didn't want to leave.

If you go to Nevis, and you should because it is a beautiful little island, You should stay at this hotel. The rooms are private and quiet cottages with great screen in porches that overlook the gorgeous beach. The sunsets were breathtaking. The beach is shallow and one can swim out quite a distance without being in over your head. The staff was very helpful. They supply you with coffee every morning and nice medium size refrigerator for storing cold cuts and juices. One tip...take your shower when you come back from the beach in the afternoon. Hot water is scarce in the morning but quite good in the afternoons. Tuesday night the hotel offer an all you can eat buffet. Lobster, steak, fish, chicken ... all you can eat for only $45. This and the price of the room are tremendous values. Book it and enjoy.

My girlfriend and I spent five days and nights. Each one was most pleasurable!! Everyone at the hotel, from the bell hops to the waitresses to the room attendants, was more than happy and willing to help and cater to our every need. For us, it was a dream come true. The hotel grounds were clean and manicured. A "true tropical setting". Our room was upgraded from a mountain view to an ocean view. Our private patio looked out over the pool and on to the beach. Watching the sunset every night was awe inspiring.

We stayed at the Hermitage for 5 nights at the start of our honeymoon and we found the overall experience very enjoyable. The staff were overall quite friendly and the property was very well maintained. The hotel is quite far from the beach but there is a small swimming pool on the property. We enjoyed tennis, walks in the hills and a lot of lying around in a hammock sipping on a rum punch. The food is really excellent and the buffet night is not to be missed (suckling pig roasted on a spit for 10 hours under a mango tree on the property, plus loads of other local dishes, including a huge veggie selection). We went out of season so the property was very quiet (as was the rest of the island) but it was just what we needed after the stress of organising a wedding. If you're looking for a peaceful few days on Nevis I would highly recommend it.
