Absolutely perfect location!Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: Location! Location! Location!
Cons: There is a need for air conditioning if a hot day.
Location: One block from English Beach. Stanley Park is a few blocks away. coal Harbor was 7 blocks away. We used the " hop on, hop off" bus. ($39 for 24 hours)
We parked our car in the hotel lot and walked everywhere. We never drove. One block from English Bay, Stankey Park! Much older hotel, lovely staff. Only issue is lack of air conditioning if it's warm.

very convenientPosted Jul 27, 2015
Nice hotel, staff were excellent, room was always very clean. The only crappy thing was the elevator. The hotel is very close to the beach, restaurants, grocery shops and to the most vibrant streets in downtown Vancouver.

Nice hotel, lousy parking.Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Staff was very helpful. Beach close. Hop-on & off stop near by. Lots of shops near by.
Cons: Parking is lousy. $17.00 per night to park in a small gravel lot behind the hotel with about 20 spaces with no security and not guarantee of space.
Location: South beach is easy walking distance. Beautiful sunsets there. Fish House restaurant, near by was great.
Staff was very helpful with setting up tours. Spent 4 days in Vancouver sightseeing and the hotel was a good place to start. The South Beach was in easy walking distance and the sunsets there were beautiful.

It was easy to find a hotel. I like how its in downtown and that it's near the sea wall. Overall our experience it was great! I really love to staff. They are so friendly!!

I was traveling with 2 other girl friends and we couldn't have asked for a more delightful experience. The accommodations provided comfortable bedding for a good night's sleep, a refrigerator to keep a few food items chilled, and a location that make Vancouver easy to access. We had a perfect stay.

OK but over pricedPosted Jun 30, 2015
Cons: The service in the restaurant left a lot to be desired especially on Sunday. The A/C in out room didn't work very well.
Location: Location was the best part
Not sure if it was just a busy weekend or if the hotel service is always that bad.

Nice Hotel close to everything in West End.Posted Jun 28, 2015
The Best Western Sands is an older hotel that has been kept up and is remodeling. Its location is unbeatable for doing things in the West End, Stanley Park, or along the beaches of English Bay. Lots of good pubs and restaurants close by, along with many galleries and shops. Everything is a short walk away. It is also easy to get to other parts of downtown Vancouver by walking or a short cab ride. Also the water taxi to Grannville Island and False Creek is a few blocks away. All of Stanley Park is right out the front door. The rooms are nice, clean, and safe, but somewhat dated. But the location can't be beat.
