Pros: Nice and clean

The hotel is close to Chinatown and downtown with a decent price, I'll stay again if I come to Vancouver.

Great, helpful staff. Good transit around, all in all it's located in a good spot, the area is little sketchy though.

The hotel is quaint, old-fashioned, clean, nice.

Pros: The Pub, Clean Rooms, Character
The hotel itself is nice. Not a luxury hotel, but an old hotel with lots of charm and character. During prohibition, famous Jazz musicians (including Jellyroll Morton) lived here while playing in the house band. Rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly. There is a pub attached that has excellent local craft beer, and decent food. Many people will be adverse to the area in which the hotel is situated, as East Hastings is something of the Skid Row of Vancouver. However, I never felt unsafe walking through the neighborhood in the day. Perhaps at night it's bad, but take a cab.

The area where the hotel is located is not nice.

Pros: the receptionists.
The area where the hotel is located is not nice, dirty. The hotel is too old, the floor is noisy when you walk. It is clean, but is not worth it to stay in the hotel.

Great hotel not so great location

Posted Apr 1, 2015
The staff are fantastic, the bar downstairs is great serving amazing food. Rooms are clean but basic not much to say for the view but I was happy. However make sure you check out the area, I was happy enough but many wouldn't be.

Not worth the savings.

This hotel was in a shady part of town, it was very old and smelled horrible. The staff was very rude and unwelcoming. I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. There are 0 amenities. No coffee maker, fridge, iron, hair dryer, heater or A/C. The floors were loud and creeked enough to wake me with every passing guest throughout the night. Cheap, but not worth the savings.

Close to downtown, cheap

Pros: The old hallways and elevator. Not sure I heard right but I heard someone say there was a film crew filming for ghosts! Would have loved to helped out
Cons: Some cleaning issues..hair in shower even before I stepped in. BUT the cleaning staff replaced towels and maid my bed everyday...
The hotel is older. But adds to the charm. I knew what I was getting into when I booked. I was booking on cost. If you want high roller, gold faucets and fresh baby tears flowing out of a fountain in your room....go somewhere else. My only advice is when walking to from hotel, walk on street across(south) the homeless have a few blocks they call their own (they have stuff laid out in flee market style) I was never bothered but I did keep to non busy side. (I travelled alone as a 29 year old female)

Patrica Budget Hotel in Vancouver, BC

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: The room rates are good for the budget minded traveler. Rooms are basic and were tended to daily.
Location: It's in walking distance of Chinatown, BC arena, and Roger's arena.
Nice clean rooms in a old hotel. It's in East Vancouver so expect it to be a little rough. If you wanted a more pleasing setting for your stay in Vancouver spend a bit more in West Vancouver. The staff of the hotel were helpful and knew cost saving ways to most city attractions. Pat's Pub, next to the hotel, is a great pub for some good food and live music.

Noor was extremely polite, helpful, and knowledgable about where to go and what to do in the area.
