Pros:

Great hotel in great location at a great price!

Posted Feb 17, 2015
This hotel is well appointed for the price we paid and the one bedroom apartment was large. The kitchen was well equipped and Urban Fare is right across the street. The only thing they could add is coasters and table placemats. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed being there. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings were quite modern. TV in the living room and bedroom. It was close to restaurants of all price ranges and walking distance to the Vancouver Art Gallery and the water. Robson Street is one block away. Sky Train not far - 3-4 blocks. We would definitely go back again if in Vancouver.

More than Expected!

Pros: Size of Rooms Security WIFI Speed Parking
Location: groceries across street surrounded by affordable healthy meal choices safe walking at night and shopping
Huge Rooms, these were apartment size suites with full size kitchen and appliances. Kitchen excellent. Was working in town for a week. Lots of work space to spread out desk, dining table with a view. Comfy couch and living room. TV in bedroom was a pleasant bonus. Complimentary WIFI was very fast which surprised me, usually hotels want a fee for the faster service. Great Veiw of the city. I really appreciated how secure the hotel was, gated parking, elevator access only to designated guest floor and keyed bolt locking doors from exterior instead of magnetic keys. Gym had all the necessities with TV's Overall i rate this a full five starts in particular because of the value. This is not an expensive hotel yet has double or triple the size of rooms comparatively and all the extra amenities. The location could not be better with a grocery store across the street and Starbucks! Thanks to the excellent staff....very helpful with luggage and parking. Parking and bellman help with luggage was one of the most convenient parking situations in a downtown hotel and more secure than most. Overall excellent stay and is my new choice of stay for downtown Vancouver.

Great for business and leisure

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: I liked that it offered apartments. I prefer apartments for a longer stay.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Urban Fare across the street, Tim Hortons next door, lots of fancy restaurants and coffee shops in easy walking distance
It has a feel as if you live in Vancouver. An apartment with a balcony, kitchen, bedroom and living room/dining room. Very comfortable and clean. Right across the street is Urban Fare, a supermarket with great produce, prepared foods and the usual fare. Of course a Tim Hortons is basically in the building. It is easily reachable by taxi (about $35 from the airport) and also public transportation. All around are upscale restaurants. We came for a convention and it took about 15 minutes to walk to the convention center. All in all a great place.

quick 1 night on way to Whistler with early start (6am bus, 400m away at Hyatt/Burrard train station). Was coordinating with 3 family members flying in independently from US and Aust Wanted hassle-free 1 night stop but had unresolvsble problems with wifi resulting in late night visits to lobby to use lobby wifi. Staff not the most helpful.

Great stay at the Carmana Plaza Jan.5, 2015

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: Accommodation - first rate. Bedding - especially very comfortable. Perfect downtown location. Staff - welcoming and helpful. Wi-Fi - very fast.
Cons: We don't think anything should be done to improve the Plaza.
Location: Great downtown location. Many restaurants - easy walking distance. Robson St nightlife around corner. Aquarium quite close. Airport not far.
We had our son and his family visiting from Toronto and they wanted a night in Vancouver before flying home. We booked a 2 bedroom suite and the accommodation exceeded our expectation. The suite was large, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large livingroom with a fully made sofa bed ready for us, dining area with a desk, a full kitchen and a balcony - and the free Wi-Fi worked very well. The rooms were all very clean, bright and well equipped. The staff were all extremely polite and accommodating. The location was perfect. We had a large choice of places to eat supper within easy walking distance, and our son and his wife enjoyed the nightlife on Robson Street while we enjoyed our granddaughter after supper. It was a perfect way to end a vacation. We look forward to coming back again - with or without company.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay at the Carmana Plaza. We had arrived at 9am and wanted them to hold our bags while we explored but our room was ready and we were able to check in early free of cost, this was wonderful! Overall, the service we experienced there was great, room was clean and quite spacious, bed was comfortable and noise was minimal. Keurig machine was a nice touch. Location of the hotel was excellent, a quick walk to everything you could need - Starbucks, Tim Hortons and Urban Fare only a few steps away and yummy restaurants nearby. Will definitely return :)
