The best thing about this hotel is it's location. You can walk to the beach, Stanley Park,Granville Island ferry, and to downtown. Transit is almost at the door. The neighbourhood has lots of great restaurants (try Legendary Noodle), Whole Foods nearby, Starbucks and Tim's. There is a mall with a dollar store for all those forgotten items, and a No Frills for those food items you like to have in your room. The room fridge was roomier than a bar fridge. Rooms have balconies for outdoor relaxing, although the hotel has a beautiful outdoor courtyard.
The only negative is the in room portable air conditioning unit which we found too noisy to leave on all night. We managed to keep the room comfortable by using the air conditioner while we were out, and using the drapes to keep out the sun. We would stay here again, and that says it all.

We were travelling back to Calgary from Vancouver & wanted to cut a bit of time off the trip by staying in Surrey for our last night. The hotel was full so we did not get the room we had reserved - we got an upgrade to a suite. I would have been happy to have this room the whole time we were in Vancouver! There was only one queen bed but the sofa folded out to a bed for my daughter so that worked out OK. Our neighbors apparently could not move their numerous massive suitcases into or out of their room without slamming the door against the wall multiple times but that was the only noise we noticed from outside. Inside the suite, we had a TV in each room, a small sofa & chair in the living room as well as a little kitchenette (that we had no use for, unfortunately). The bathroom was small but the door opened outwards so that helped - our previous hotel room had a bathroom the same size but the door opened inward which sometimes caused some awkward maneuvering. This was a nice place to stay.
