Dated and shows it

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: the bed
Cons: breakfast cereals and waffles, bagels toast etc fine as were juices, but eggs and sausage patties bore little resemblance to human food
Location: good location close to town and tourist attractions
I stayed two nights at this hotel during peak season. The staff were pleasant and courteous, but my room was very 1970's and the attempts at update reminded me of the saying "putting lipstick on a pig." The least pleasing aspect of the junior suite was the entrance which was off a very narrow passageway to the parking lot. The living room was uncomfortable and the dishes and pots in the kitchen did not inspire confidence with their cleanliness. The highlight was the bed which was very comfortable and made up for some of the other deficiencies.

Staff was outstanding,

Pros: The beautiful courtyard for guest to enjoy. The free breakfast. Nice rooms. The helpful friendly staff.
Cons: Like everything in Vancouver, it was somewhat expensive.
Location: 5 minute free shuttle ride to Capilano suspension Bridge Park, in a gorgeous rainforest.
We felt like we were visiting friends because the staff was so friendly and accommodating! They offered us food and coffee while we waited for our cab. They gave us helpful suggestions and coupons for attractions.

Good motel.

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: Walking distance to restaurants and stores. Very friendly staff. One block from a very pleasant nature trail leading to Mosquito Creek Park.
Cons: Kind of surprised that my room didn't have a fridge.
Location: A couple of good restaurants within walking distance. Downtown North Van (i.e. Lonsdale Street and Quay is a 30 minute walk along Marine Drive.
Stayed two nights while travelling with friends who stayed at a different hotel nearby. The other hotel was sold out so I stayed here. Good motel equivalent or better than a couple of competitors nearby. The pool here is much more private, if somewhat smaller, then the neighbours.

Great hotel near North Vancouver attractions

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Mostly vacationers staying here. Hotel staff was very nice and went out of their way to help. No problem when asking for additional towels, blankets, or any additional request. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The weather was warm outside and the room a/c took a while to cool off the room but that night the room was plenty cool. I recommend staying here for a budget friendly hotel. The breakfast was very popular and had plenty of food.

Bad location, no maid, noisy (thin walls)

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Plan to go to Vancouver? Then don't stay in this hotel. The traffic across bridges to Vancouver is terrible at pretty much anytime of the day (we spent over 20 min every time to cross a bridge that is very close to the hotel). The hotel itself is more like a motel than a hotel. Super thin walls, very old building and AC contribute to being very noisy. Breakfast is held in an area a few feet from the doors, and small for the number of guests - we had to wait several minutes to get access to the waffle maker, for instance.

Nice West side hotel

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel is located in an area where a first time visitor to Vancouver can navigate themselves without much difficulty.
