Close to Airport with parking

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Location was handy we stayed 8 years ago, but it had got busy and more built up. Useful base for airport and Travellers Tourists
Cons: Surprised after having a fridge in our rooms elsewhere not to have a fridge here.
Location: It was recommended by a relative of ours resident in Canada. Richmond and main airport, good overhead trains to Central Vancouver. Big Supermarket.
WE stayed after 9 hours flight etc from UK for first night to rest after flight, and before our 9 hours flight back to UK to rest before loss of a night due to travel and time difference 4 pm flight landing 9.30 am following day Manchester. It is in a quite a busy area, with main roads from airport, overhead trains into Vancouver. Breakfasts in house adequate and an excellent supermarket with fresh food and café over the road, but limited fast food outlets for evening meals within walking distance. Good to have tea and coffee in lobby, it would be nicer if fresh milk is available for these drinks all the time not just breakfast until run out?

Great location for YVR

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Overall condition, location, breakfast and courteous, friendly staff.
Cons: Not the hotel's fault, but there could be more restaurant options within walking distance.
Well equipped hotel in great condition. We enjoyed our stay here, especially the comfy beds, quality fittings and excellent breakfast.

Badly maintained.

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Only good thing is the location.
Cons: Need a big time renovation.
Location: I had a rental vehicle and this location is close to a lot of tourist attractions.
Old and badly maintain. Smelly washroom. Paid for a queen size bed room but got a double bed instead.

Works for me

This Hampton is not the newest but it's clean and convenient to both the airport (via shuttle) and the metro line (two blocks away) into the central city. The staff was helpful with directions and early check-in. We stayed here enroute to and from the U.K. and I'd do it again. I like to sleep in a cool room and unlike many other hotels, the air conditioning here took the room down to a comfortable level, perhaps 66 or 68 degrees F. On our return trip we had to leave before the regular breakfast and bags of fruit and snacks were at the desk for us to take with us.

Nice hotel with excellent staff.

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Excellent staff and free breakfast.
Cons: Swimming pool
Location: Airport, Costco, grocery stores and many Asian restaurants. This hotel is also near the freeway, and one can go to Vancouver, Seattle or Westminister.
This hotel is conveniently located near the airport and just a block away from Costco.

Looks are deceiving

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Having staff that speak English fluently.
Location: Close to train and airport.
The outside of the Hampton was a bit old and I was surprised that the inside was quite good. Not all the staff at front desk understood English very well, so found it hard to ask questions and get the responses needed. It is close to train, which is great. Breakfast was great. Food filled very quickly, when containers got emptied. We stayed three nights which was quiet long enough. Close to airport.

Fine airport hotel

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Breakfast wasn't that appealing. I asked for a room away from the ice machine --- I wasn't that far away, but the door was solid.
Location: Skytrain, airport, near grocery store opening across the street.
I stayed two nights at the hotel in preparation for a conference downtown. Other guests had stayed here before which is always a good sign. Room was fine. I spent one day in the room working with no issues. Good shuttle service to airport. Breakfast wasn't all that great (albeit free) but there is a Burger King across the street and restaurants nearby. About a 10 minute walk to the Skytrain or one could take the shuttle to the airport. Overall, fine.

Lack of fresh air

Posted Jun 7, 2014
Location: Proximity to airport, grocery store, Canadian Tire.
I think there can be more emphasis on cleanliness. In the washroom, the sink was clogged. There was also a bit of a stink in the room.
