“Very good hotel, prompt effective service - no unpleasant surprises”

Rooms were clean, well kept if a bit austere. My only real issue was no in room/suite safe. Had two issues - Internet connection (not able to connect) and heating was not working correctly. They immediately came up and resolved both problems very promptly. Service was across the board excellent - including fast room service.

“A great hotel, will use this service again. Best walkin rate was a lot more”

The lights in the bathroom were messed up so we were moved to another room and upgrade to a suite! Sweet!

“Ok, but didn't feel like a 4 star hotel”

We asked for a non smoking room. The room we were given was labeled as non smoking but smelled heavily of smoke. We asked for a different room and were told that the 4th floor has several smoking rooms and thats why our room smelled that way. They moved us up a few floors and the smoke smell was gone but the room still didn't smell great. Also, as mentioned by other reviews the pool is a small lap pool so if there a kids there dont plan on swimming.

“Great hotel!”

This hotel is located in an area called Metrotown in Burnaby, BC. There is the Sky Train rail two blocks away. You can go right to the waterfront area of Vancouver in about twelve minutes. The hotel is also located two blocks from on of the largest malls I have ever been too. It is the second largest mall in Canada!

“Nice Stay at Metrotown Vancouver”

This hotel is half block away to the 2nd largest mall of Canada, super convenient to restaurants and shopping. It's our first time to Vancouver - we did not know that Burnaby actually has pretty big population of Asian; it was amazing to find so many different styles of Chinese food around the hotel. The staff are very nice and friendly. The room is clean and comfortable. Full breakfast buffet was included to the room, which was great! Sky train is 10 minutes walk distance from the hotel and it only took us 20 minutes train ride to downtown Vancouver. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!

Getting around

The Big Bus Hop On Hop Off tour is highly recommended. We stayed at Vancouver for 4 nights and spent two days on the bus enjoying pressure-free sightseeing and fresh ocean breeze! The tour is about an hour and half long covering major landmarks of downtown Vancouver. It even has Mandarin translation so that my parents got to hear and know the history of Vancouver.

Must see

Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge and the city of Victoria are a must-see.

“Great customer service”

The hotel is located in front of a big shopping mall and the sky train is also nearby. The rooms are big and well appointed. The staff was extremelly helpfull and Stephanie at the lobbie was awesome. Overall a very nice hotel with an outstanding customer service. I will definitely recomend this hotel.

“Metrotown Hotel”

the Hotel is near the metrotown area and great for shopping. If you take the skytrain you will be in Downtown in 20 minutes. Hotel is very nice. We did the Hotel breakfast on Sunday morning and was packed and service not very great. Food was ok. Staff very friendly (except restaurant) Room was small but clean and quite. Nice view of the mountains. Definitely will stay again.

Must see

Metrotown is great for shopping. Aquarium is small but great. Took a Vancouver Trolley tour to hop on and off was great

“A bit far from heart of Vancouver but a great hotel”

If you have a car like I did, then all the action is just 15-20 minutes away because the hotel is otherwise great. Had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed my trip.

Area recommendations

We actually decided to drive out of Vancouver to explore the natural beauty as well and if you like Nature this is something that I strongly recommend. Drive along Canada-1 and as you drive along the Pacific on one side and the mountains on the other you will create lifelong memories.

What to pack

Temperatures in Vancouver are chilly even in the middle of summer so bring along warm clothing. Also it can rain any time. I am from New England and went there in June but had to use a sweater.

“Nice hotel; they need to add an in-room safe.”

Good hotel. Great for the price. Has a usable fitness room, and ample work desk in the room. Only drawback is that they don't have an IN-ROOM SAFE. They need to add an in-room safe, so I don't feel like I have to carry my passport and valuables around. (A front desk safe deposit box is no substitute; I want my own safe, in my room, with a custom combination that I can set.)

“Impressed”

The room was very clean and quiet. The hotel is located near the Sky Train station so it was easy to travel to Vancouver downtown.
