“Friendly people, nice breakfast!”
Even when the Hotel is across from the Sky Train station that takes you directly to Vancouver downtown, is it too far from all the city activity and attractions. The people at reception desk as well as maid service and all employees are very friendly and customer service oriented. The room was big and comfortable with a little unpleasant smell probably from smoking time ago even when the hotel is not smoking place. The best of all - its breakfast. Hot complimentary breakfast with wide variety of items to chose from. A little bit expensive for what you get and where you are.

Stayed at this location for business. Decent breakfast bar, very good room, perfect location for my stay. Rock star parking garage under hotel. Decent veiw out of the room also. Definitely would stay again, and recommend. Located next to giant mall, Metropolis Metrotown.
“Right at Metrotown”
This wonderful clean hotel offers a buffet breakfast included with hotel room costs. Plus, free wireless internet, free daily newspaper, microwave and mini fridge in room. Best value on earth! We'll never be staying at any other hotels ever again after seeing this great place.

“Great hotel for Burnaby”
Very nice place, pretty much has everything I would need. Room amenities are very sufficient -- got hairdryer, ironing and board, microwave, fridge, flat screen TV, pretty much got everything you'd expect. Location is pretty convenient, probably the best place in Burnaby. If you're touring around the Greater Vancouver area (Vancouver, Richmond, etc.) you may have to take the sky train or drive around as Burnaby is a bit out from these other cities, but generally it's still really convenient. Shopping mall right down stairs and a Chinese mall (Crystal Centre) a block away.

“Great Hotel at the right price with a fantastically convenient location”
The location is privileged, within walking distance of the train station and a huge mall with all the possible shopping options and food alternatives. The room met the expectations, clean, spacious and with everything in good working order. Free parking in the building’s basement was of easy access and with direct access to the Hotel’s elevator which was very convenient. The pillow top mattresses were comfortable, and the AC system although not needed was a plus. The breakfast options were basic but at no cost, it was another plus. Overall, this is a good affordable Hotel with nice amenities at an outstanding quality to price ratio.
“HI Express Burnaby--Great Location, Great Staff”
Overall I can't say enough about how great the staff was at this hotel. While the room is standard fare for HI Express--good, but not luxurious, the staff makes the difference in my humble opinion. While I was there, I experienced 2 issues that the staff handled professionally and appropriately: 1. The valve in the shower was installed backwards. They replaced it while I was out after reporting it and it worked fine afterwards. 2. On a Saturday night, there was a group of loud college kids in the room next to mine who were dropping F-bombs at 2 AM. Neil was on desk duty at the time. He and a security guard got up there quickly, confronted them and got them to quiet down so everyone else could sleep. They were out of the hotel the next day. Some other things to mention: The staff was VERY RESPECTFUL of my privacy, particularly when I was spending some much needed quality time with a Special Lady whom I was visiting in Burnaby during this trip. Housekeeping respected a Do Not Disturb sign and that was very important. I would also mention that the location is next to the Sky Train Station, Metropolis at MetroTown and other Burnaby Attractions--which is very convenient. Also the other ladies who work the front desk (I cannot remember their names) were helpful in getting a Taxi for us on different days/nights and for my departure.
