Comfortable and convenient hotel.

Posted Sep 23, 2014
When we checked in late in the evening for a five night stay staff explained that carpets were being replaced on our floor and offered to upgrade us to a junior suite on another floor the next day for the remainder of our stay. Both rooms faced the wooded area of the property and so were very quiet as opposed to the street-facing side of the building. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, with a kitchenette, table and chairs and a seating area with a sofa. We took advantage of the Superstore located across the street and bought enough food for our breakfasts, lunches and snacks. We liked the onsite restaurant and pub where we were able to entertain some of our friends and family and enjoy decently priced delicious meals. The outdoor spaces were well kept(gardens were beautiful) and had several intimate seating areas for reading or just having a quiet conversation. The hotel is conveniently located near #1 Hwy and several other major routes leading to popular attractions like Mt Seymour, Downtown Vancouver, shopping centres as well as popular restaurants. Hiking/biking trails were nearby;one very easily accessed by a short walk across the street. Staff at the hotel was friendly, courteous and efficient. When we were to be moved to our new room a message was left on our phone. Staff at reception were able to confirm easily by means of notations left by the original staff who was now off duty. Everything went smoothly. Decently priced hotel and I highly recommend it.

IHG Points

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Good staff. Churchill's pub and tea room very good. Grounds beautiful.
Cons: Fix noisy air conditioner.
Location: Too far from downtown but the price reflected that. You get the location that you pay for.
Was disappointed that the hotel was unable to give me any IHG points because I booked on Expedia. A distinct disadvantage to booking through the Expedia site. The restaurant reminded me of an American Casino restaurant. Pretty basic with bright lights etc.

Fine Hotel with usual Vancouver prices.

Posted Sep 12, 2014
A fine hotel and excellent staff but the price of everything in the Vancouver area certainly affects the overall experience. Very pleasant small wine bar/lounge with great ambience. Always stay 2 or 3 nights while visiting family and it is close to the Trans-Canada for access and egress.

Relaxing setting

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Suite was spacious, the hotel provided dishes upon request. Free parking was an added benefit.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Superstore next door, hiking close by. Close to shops and entertainment.
Situated on the side of the hill, this hotel has a lovely view. The waterfall in the front of the hotel provides a relaxing experience right from the start. The garden in the back and pergola provide a space to relax outside of the hotel. Rooms are quiet and relaxing.

What a great surprise!!

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Use to live in North Vancouver and drove past it regularly.
Cons: It was all good!
This is a great hotel with a staff, that couldn't have been nicer. The rooms were very clean and the bed and pillows were very cozy. We were staying here to attend the PNE. We will be back in a couple of weeks to see Katie Perry and we will definitely be staying here again. Already booked.

Bad location

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Room large and well kept.
Cons: Offer a free breakfast
Location: Inconvenient and away from the fun of Vancouver.
The hotel was nice enough. However, the location in North Vancouver was too out of the way for our favorite sites in downtown and west Vancouver. No free breakfast. Dealing with traffic made this the least enjoyable trip we've made to the city.
