Luxurious

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: Comfort - bed was beautiful, soft sheets, pillows. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was excellent.
Cons: Opposite was a building site, but noise did not really impact, though if I had been staying in it might have been a problem.
Location: Close to shopping and transport.
I only stayed for one night and I wished it could have been longer. I was upgraded when I arrived, which I did not expect, and the room was wonderful, with facilities such as a washer and dryer and cooking, which I would have used if I had been staying longer. Check out was noon, which was great, and I was able to use their facilities later in the day as I waited to go to the airport.

Two-day Stay Apre-Cruise

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable room; clean, quiet and spacious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Located in central section of the city.
Location: Centrally located in heart of Vancouver, about a block from Robson Street (shopping). You need a cab/bus to get to trendy restaurants or Stanley Park.
This hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff was great; providing helpful suggestions for sight seing and restaurants during our short stay. There is presently new construction ongoing across the street. There was no noise in the hotel nor any inconvenience to our stay. We chose the hotel through an internet search and received a great price through Expedia.

Awesome value

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Kitchen Small number of rooms
Cons: Would rather have a co-ed sauna
If your into downtown shopping and gastown, then this is a good location for you. We rented bikes so everything was close. Highly recommend Simon's bike rentals (hotel has a coupon). Some people complained about the construction, but we found it an interesting slice of city life that did not compete with our sleeping hours. Hotel was awesome and I will definitely come back here. Having the suite with kitchen helped with the food budget and provided a very comfortable space. Very clean. I bet it was remodeled about 10 years ago and will need another in about 5. Had a nice workout but did not swim, although pool area looked cool.

Exceeds Every Expectation

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Location: Access to all the great things to do in Vancouver's downtown centre
Our recent stay at L'Hermitage exceeded our expectations. The hotel staff were friendly and very committed to ensuring our stay was a success. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. There is a charge for parking, but this is normal for any downtown Vancouver hotel. The parking charge was not exorbitant and valet parking made the whole process even better. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

comfortable hotel, close to bus pick up

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: nothing
Location: It was a short walk to the hop on - hop off trolley pick up which got us where we wanted to go.
Our room was spacious and well appointed. We enjoyed the large bath, comfortable bed and sitting area. The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the location which was a block away from the hop on - hop off bus pickup. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Building site

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Our suite was good, comfy, spacious with a full kitchen.
Cons: Honesty about the current situation - giving guests the opportunity to decide to take the risk of noise or not.
We looked forward to staying in the suite for 1 night, it was part of a four day getaway to Seattle and Vancouver, this hotel was the most expensive of our stay and we were really looking forward to it. I was surprised upon arrival to find a tower block being built immediately across the road, there was no mention of this on Expedia or the hotel's own website / confirmation email. We arrived on Sunday, reception apologised for the site opposite, a little late for that - the time for apologies or notification of the works at check in was too late for us to do much about it. The site was quiet on arrival as it was Sunday, I asked just how noisy is it, I was told - its not really bad we have double glazed windows......Well on Monday morning I felt completely duped as all hell broke loose across the road, cement mixer lorry's, drilling, cranes, a vile smell of raw sewage filled the street. We complained to reception when we left and await a response from the Manager....
