Good place to stay for families

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Location: We walked to the West End farmer's market and the ferry stop to go over to Granville Island and around False Creek. Lots of shopping and restaurants.
The hotel is easy to get to and from the airport using the Skytrain. It's only 4 or so blocks away. It's great to be able to cook in and there is a market right across the street for all your shopping needs.

Perfect base for seeing the city

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: The apartment and the facilities.
Cons: More seating in the lobby would be useful and better lighting in the bathroom would help. Lift very busy, more space would be useful.
Location: Bike hire for Stanley Park just off Robson street, great couple of hours around the seawall. Lookout was amazing at night time and Fly over Canada too
The hotel was perfectly situated to enable us to walk to Stanley Park 15 minutes easy strolling in one direction and Canada Place 10 minutes the other. Robson street was just on the next corner which had a nice range of shops. The hop-on hop-off bus conveniently stopped opposite the hotel for initially exploring the many areas of the city and offer a free shuttle service to the Capillano suspension bridge and grouse mountain which were both good fun trips. The hotel facilities were very good and we used the gym, swimming pool, guest laundry and hotel shop frequently. The convenience of having an apartment meant we could self cater using the grocery store next door. We had a balcony which enabled us to enjoy the sunshine and city views and the apartment was well serviced daily. Nice area for sitting out at the front of the hotel as sometimes the lobby was crowded with people wanting to get wifi free of charge. Staff were helpful and polite and helped arrange tours to Whistler and Vancouver Island, which were both great trips and a highlight of the stay. Overall a great stay in Vancouver in a perfect spot.

Very nice hotel. Excellent location, only 10 minute walk from Canada Place in the heart of Downtown. Rooms are becoming due for refurb but are still clean and perfectly adequate. Overall a great place to stay.

4-night stay in Residence

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: I liked a lot. Easy check-in. Perfect location. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Cons: The pull-out couch was uncomfortable (you could feel the springs). An additionnal foam mattress would help. The carpeting could use a shampoo.
Location: Perfect location, short walk to the Sky Train. Transit easily accessible. Walking distance to several places.
Awesome room, way bigger than I expected. It even had a full fridge, stove and dishwasher, which I didn't use but could have. And it was equipped with dishes, cutlery, pots, toaster, etc., and even had a balcony. Perfect location close to everything. Would definitely stay there again since the price was right for what I got.

Very nice stay at la grande residence at the sutton place in downtown vancouver. Rooms were great. Did have a bit of trouble with getting one of our rooms when we checked in. It took the staff a couple of additional hours past our check in time to have our second suit ready. No big deal, just went out for a bite to eat and the room was ready upon our return.

great location

Cons: Poor air conditioning. 85 degrees inside my room. They provided fans which really helped.
Location: Vancouver Art Gallery/Museum-wonderful The café and outside eating were great. Stanley Park bike ride-great
Very helpful with ideas of what to do and directions. Also, on timing of getting back to the airport. Front lobby is very inviting.

Nice downtown hotel

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: The location was great and the two hotel towers look nice as well.
Cons: Free Wifi is everywhere and the guests should not have to pay to have it in their rooms.
Location: Convenient location with many restaurants nearby, all within walking distance.
Check in was easy and pleasant and the staff was helpful. When I needed extra towels, that was brought to my room very quickly. It was a nice downtown location and easy to get around. I would suggest paying a bit more for the updated rooms. I did not realize the one I reserved was not updated and it was disappointing after I saw the updated one my friend was staying in.

Excellent Stay!

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, bed and cleanliness
Cons: The elevators were slow and dated.. One elevator was broken and hotel staff had to use the guest elevator as their work elevator.
Location: Location is excellent! Shopping on Robson, close to the waterfront to watch the planes take off, near Stanley Park and Granville Island.
It was my first time in Vancouver and I was so pleased to have had the opportunity to stay at the Sutton Place. The residence room was great for giving us enough space for an extended stay. I enjoyed the large bathroom and complimentary toiletries and the bedroom was nice and big with plenty of closet space. The bed was very comfy and the rooms were kept very clean by the hotel staff. The location of the hotel was fantastic. I felt that I was central to everything and could easily access the waterfront, Stanley Park, and Granville Island. Shopping was great too with Robson just being a very short walk down the street.

Disappointing

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Room wasn't ready by 3:00 pm, had to wait for 45 minutes to get the room. Harbour view rooms are only those on the highest two floors. All others, although chraged as harbour view rooms, do not have any view. The is a big building blocking all view to the harbour right in front of the room. Room needs a lot of TLC. Half oh the lamps don't work. The batroom looks like out of a movie in the 70'. Old tiles, gold faucets, wallpaper!!!! The mini fridge, as expected, didn't work and had rotten food from the prior guest. Yucks! The only good thing was the pool. Very nice.
