Best hotel experience

Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: Staff was so accommodating, location is next to everything you'd want to do, modern chic rooms, everything was great
Cons: no, it was a great experience
Location: 1 block to the best shopping, 1 block to movie theatre, walking distance to Granville, waterfront and Yaletown, ground zero to everything!
We've stayed here before because of the excellent location and it's a beautiful hotel but this time was the BEST! We mentioned that we were Expedia Gold members and they upgraded us to this AMAZING 2 bedroom fully furnished apartment with a full on kitchen with stove and oven and fridge and great views. Granite counter and island. Formal dining room with chandelier! This would be an amazing place for an extended stay and /or with kids. We paid to park in the garage but the machine was out of paper. I expected a hassle or to have to pay twice but the front desk was so accommodating and told us we didn't have to worry about it at all!

A Vancouver vacation to remember

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: larger area for parking as you check in.
Location: Very centrally located and walking distance to all of downtown.
All aspects of the Hotel are fantastic. Starting with the parking and the front desk staff. All were extremely courteous and always willing to answer and suggest places to see and to eat. The room was simply incredible, beds were very comfortable and the room staff was friendly and always on top of our needs. We have been to Vancouver on 2 other occasions and we will be back to stay at the Sutton from now on.

Pricey but worth it

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Staff was very friendly, got the modern room and close to elevator but it was very quiet. Also get room not facing the main street, less view but quieter too.

When I booked the rooms looked great and updated

Posted Nov 10, 2014
We had an ok time at the hotel. It's beautiful in the lobby and poolside but the floor we were on was old and the rooms were tired looking. They have been renovating the rooms and halls on other floors but we got the ugly floor. I even paid more for a higher floor so that was disappointing. Next time I will ask for a more updated room.

Everything I Needed

Posted Nov 4, 2014
I had a room with a kitchen and I took full advantage of it. The mini-mart adjacent to the hotel made it very easy to get my food supplies, and everything else I needed was in the kitchen...fridge with a large freezer, a large counter space, stove AND oven...complete with all necessary pots, pans & utensils etc. , with the bonus of a dishwasher. I got excellent advice from the concierge in helping to find stores I needed, bike rentals and a yoga class (all within walking distance) in addition to taking care of restaurant booking. Very friendly staff. I plan to return.

The grande residence at Sutton Place was great! Two room suite was exactly what was needed. The location is perfect - close to harbour, shopping and great restaurants, including the awesome one in the hotel! Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

Convenient Location

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: The location was a perfect base to see the city sites.
Cons: The elevators on our side of the hotel were slow and took forever to appear.
Location: A short pleasant walk to the convention center waterfront tourist area.
We stayed in the 'Executive Suites' section of the hotel so all comments are based on that experience. The suite was large with a well equipped, modern, large kitchen facility. The first room we checked into, room 650, had no tub only a shower stall. It also had a closed off bedroom where none of the window mounted air conditioning could circulate. The choice was to open the window and be subjected to loud street noises or not have any circulation. We complained and were moved to a similar room which had a different layout. The staff was very accommodating and courteous.

Affordable comfort at super location

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Everything
Location: Sutton Place hotel is located right in the center of Vancouver. Whatever you are up to will be just steps away.
I got the feeling of revisiting the 80ies during my stay at Sutton Place hotel in Vancouver. If you were around then, you too remember when hotel suites were not just a bigger room with a desk and a sofa, but a proper living room, a big dining table, walk in closets, kitchen and more, all colored in endless variations of beige, bright olive green and brown. In spite of the color scheme I really felt like being home from the very first moment: My luggage was tucked away and hanged in one of the two walk in closets, my working material only needed one third of the big dining table to be properly piled and organized and I still had the desk for my computer, phones and notes. I could make a mess in the kitchen, and just close the door to hide it when I had visitors for talks, cocktails or dinner. Including the balcony, there were four different sitting areas to choose between for whatever I was doing. And I had a proper bed, big and very comfortable with covers and lots of pillows. But the very best of it all was the staff: Friendly, quick and extremely service minded.
