Great place to stay!

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Everything. The staff was very attentive.
Cons: The pillows could be a little stiffer, but they were still ok.
Location: A downtown mall is across the street, the Gaslight district is within easy walking distance, and Stanley Park is close enough to walk to.
Lots of shopping, within walking distance to the waterfront and Gaslight district. The indoor workout room, swimming pool and hot tub were fantastic. The pool has 3 lanes for lap swimming. The bed was very comfortable. Our concierge, Oliver, was most helpful in making dinner reservations on the waterfront with a window table with only 24 hours notice at Cardero's.

Good hotel in city centre

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Stayed here one night at the end of our BC road trip. Chose it for the location, smack bang in the centre of the city, right next to the Canada line to the airport. The room was a bit dated, but plush and very well kept indeed.

Pros: Great staff and great location.
I have stayed at this hotel on two recent trips to Vancouver. Staff are great and the location is centrally located and easily accessible by transit from the airport.

Excellent hotel in heart of downtown

Posted Jul 31, 2014
We had a lovely and luxurious stay at the Metropolitan. The king sized bed was extra comfy and we had fast friendly service whenever we needed it. Concierge, housekeeping and staff were all great. Had breakfast every day down the blok at scoozies restaurant and it was divine and cheaper than the hotel.

Bring your own "do not disturb" sign

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Proximity to everything.
Cons: Giving each room a "do not disturb" sign
Location: Great bars and restaurants within 8 minutes walking.
In general, the hotel was very nice. Close to a lot of restaurants, bars, and shopping. The restaurant downstairs was quite disappointing. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance, and I would suggest walking to one instead of eating DIVA's very bland and overpriced food. Before 9 am on both mornings, housecleaning frantically rang our doorbell. As we were still sleeping and this had put us in a groggy state, the housecleaning staff barged into our room. There was no do not disturb sign to prevent this.
