Oceanside Hotel

Posted Oct 24, 2014
We really enjoyed the stay here. Staff was friendly and nice, neighborhood was great and close to buses that got you all over the city. Several of us stayed here and we would all stay again in a heartbeat. If I came back to Vancouver I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

good location but not set up like a hotel.

Pros: location
Cons: everything
Location: great. Near to beach, Stanley Park, central, lots of restaurants and good walks.
Disappointing. Staff pleasant but not overly helpful. Suite is more like a rental. No elevator. Nothing in the room except toilet paper and soap. Might be ok for a long stay if you bring EVERYTHING you need. location is lovely but not the building

Ideal location - beach, restaurants & attractions.

Pros: We appreciated the location as it was convenient to all amenities of interest to us. The room was very spacious, clean and the staff were friendly.
Location: Great location near English Bay beach, Stanley Park and restaurants
We are familiar with Vancouver and appreciated that the Oceanside Hotel was within a short walking distance to English Bay beach, Stanley Park and a multitude of nearby restaurants.

Good location, bad hotel

Posted Aug 25, 2014
On paper, this place looks fine. Basically you are getting an old converted apartment building with very little ammenities. The staff was not very helpful and no one was ever at the front desk. Cons: no ac, door lock was broken so you have to slam the door to lock it. Staff was not very nice. Parking was a small garage that is hard to move around in. Room was very dingy. Pros: in room kitchen, location, free wifi, free parking.

Perfect location

Enjoyed our stay at the Oceanside. Friendly staff, perfect location. The space was great for our family of 4, very light and bright! Able to walk around seawall, easy access to transit and free parking for our car. Would recommend and plan to use it again when next in Vancouver

Great location.

Pros: Our room (suite) was spacious and has a bedroom, kitchen and fridge.
Location: Near beach and Stanley Park.
It is close to English Bay Beach and downtown. Lots of restaurants near by. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room and furniture are a bit dated but comfortable. First night we were there, the hotel and room smelled awful.

The hotel is amazingly situated near beach, stanley park and many different kinds of restaurants. The suite was clean, comfortable and nice. The staff was very helpful. The whole experience was delightful. We got free parking which was unusual for a downtown hotel.

Excellent location

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Location and proximity to CBD and tourist attractions
Cons: Cleanliness of rooms; more staff are needed to make the rooms more presentable. Also updating of linens, blankets and bedding help.
Location: Brilliant - close to Stanley Park, the beach for swimming and other water activities, down town shopping and ferries.
Great for families; separate rooms for sleeping, dining, cooking and sitting. The only thing we were disappointed in was the lack of general cleanliness of the rooms. Carpets need attention a good shampoo would help also new bedding as these are well out of their use by date. Overlooking these points the space was excellent for a family and its proximity to tourist attractions excellent.
