Great location

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The proximity to downtown/Granville Island was great! Lovely walk.
Cons: Free parking!
Location: We walked to Granville Island which was very pleasant.
We had a 2 night stay at this hotel and for the most part enjoyed our time. It was very noisy but given the busy street one would expect noise.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. Yes, we are on a busy street, so some street noise is unavoidable. We do have rooms on the back of the hotel which are definitely quieter, however you do lose out on the beautiful view of the city. I'm glad you found our location convenient. You get what you pay for.

Pros: The staff were very helpful, friendly, and polite.
Cons: Renovating bathrooms and the air conditioning system would go a long way to improving this hotel.
Location: The only thing close by was Granville Island.
Hotels in Vancouver in General are very expensive especially if you want one downtown so we had to pick one on Broadway. The good thing about this location was, it was a 20 min walk from Granville Island but was too far from downtown to walk. It was old, tired looking inside (peeling wallpaper), and had a window air conditioner that blew right on the bed next to it. The staff was lovely and helpful and the cafe next to it was really good. For the price it was ok.

Dear Renate, We have had a particularly busy summer this year and that always pushes the rates up due to lack of availability. Our location is very convenient for most of our guests, but it does depend on what you want to be close to. The Canada Line is only 4 blocks away and takes you downtown in minutes, there are also buses that run regularly outside the hotel that make downtown very accessible. Every year we have improvements that are planned, this year replacing wallpaper is one item on the agenda. The work will start in the late fall once we slow down for a month or two. Thank you for your feedback. Jill Love Rooms Division Manager

Solid 3 star hotel

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: See above
Location: See above
Amenities are plentiful, close proximity to the hospital (had a family emergency) and only a $25-30 cab ride from the airport. Some members of my family were uncertain of how long they needed to stay, and the staff worked hard to ensure they had rooms for them when they were sold out. Again, a solid 3 star and would stay there again if the need arises.

Dear Gail, Thank you for your review. I am glad we were able to be of assistance. Being so close to the hospital and all the surrounding medical facilities we have a lot of guests who are uncertain about their length of stay. We do our best to extend guests whenever possible. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hopefully you can come to Vancouver for a leisure visit next time. Jill Love Rooms Division Manager

Convenient to Vancouver General Hospital

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Location. Good breakfast.
Cons: Air Conditioner Controls.
Our only problem was with an air conditioning unit blowing cold air at one bed. Unplugged it !

Dear Guest, My apologies if the air conditioning unit was a bother to you. Alternatively to unplugging it you could turn it off at the thermostat so it won't come on automatically. I hope otherwise that your stay was a pleasant one. Jill Love Rooms Division Manager

Nice hotel,Great location!

Hotel very convenient location. Street view has amazing views of the mountain and city. Close to hospital so a big noisy, light sleeper should request back of hotel. Hotel a bit older, room was clean. Gentleman at front desk was fantastique, gave great recommendations, great knowledge of area.

Dear Ann, Thank you for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes the view is amazing but you are quite right, some guest who are not accustomed to the sounds of a big city, are more comfortable staying on the backside of the hotel. You miss out on the view but it is quieter. I so glad our agent was able to assist you, I will be sure to pass your comments along. Jill Love Rooms Division Manager

Plain and simple

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Don't expect much in the terms of luxury. But if you want a clean bed and room for the night you can't go wrong for 90$. Showers lacked some water pressure so expect to take long showers, our hot water never ran out in our 2 showers. Nice and close to downtown and tim hortons. Perfect if your overnighting in nanaimo and driving in the morning.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. Usually the feedback is that there is lots of shower pressure so my only explanation is that perhaps because we have been very busy there was a lot of usage at the time you were showering. I've yet to have a day when we have run out of hot water though so there is not shortage of that. You mention Nanaimo in your review so I'm not sure if you have accidentally reviewed the wrong hotel or just make a mistake on the name of the city. Jill Love Rooms Division Manager

Park Inn has an excellent location! We had a good time walking through the closed by park to Grandville Island. Public train is within a few blocks. We were able to go to the Waterfront !

Good choice.

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: We asked for our room to be changed so we could enjoy the advertised downtown view. They were able to change it the last night and the view is amazing
Cons: An electric kettle would be good, as tea made in coffee maker taste of coffee.
Location: We did not use public transport, have friends in Vancouver, they drove us around. An amazing city, so much to see and do, greatvariety of restaurants
We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. The room was very comfortable and clean. The view was, however, over a rental car return car park. We used the tea making facilities and brought in food for breakfast from nearby shops. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, as well as professional.

Dear Doug, Lovely to hear that we were a good hotel choice in Vancouver! For long stays, the in-room microwave, fridge, and coffee/tea maker definitely come in handy! Our Standard rooms look south, towards the City Centre. However for a minimal upgrade fee we do also have spectacular view rooms that overlook False Creek, the North Shore Mountains, and Downtown Core. Next time we would love for you to be able to experience it! Thank you again for staying with us, Doug! Kind Regards, Sabrina Pontillo Director of Sales Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Vancouver
