“Great stay in Vancouver”
We stayed here for five nights during November 2011. The hotel was very comfortable and in a central location. The staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive. Check in and out were very easy. We caught the SkyTrain from the airport to Waterfront station and then had a three minute walk to the hotel. As we had a few bags this was easy and convenient for us. There are plenty of eating options especially with Gastown nearby. The main station is only around the corner as is the ferry terminal to catch a boat across the harbour. I rely on traveller comments when I travel and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anybody. Great value for money and nice and comfrotable.
“great deal, location and service!”
We had an excellent stay! The staff was excellent, the price was excellent and the location was great! Had a fantastic stay! Would definately stay again! Clean and comfortable
“It was so close from the consulate!8 min by walk!”
Very nice service,it's perfect for a night or two.
“Would love to stay again”
The hotel stay was comfy and great!!
“pretty nice”
overall, a good deal comparatively. The price was substantially less than most other downtown hotels....it was convenient for us... very close to skytrain, buses, etc. The room was really quite modern, not old and dingy as some reviews stated, The bed was actually two twins pushed together, not a queen, but was really comfortable... nice bedding and ample pillows. Bathroom was nicely renovated, though small. Windows were weird but not a problem... not a view and I didn't expect one, The only problem with the hotel was that the elevator was broken the entire 5 day stay :( They did give us a free movie and a late checkout... they were very nice about it... but that's unacceptable to have the elevator broken that long. So, call ahead to check on the elevator before you go.,.,.and if it's working, enjoy :) Or get a lot of exercise! :)
“comfortable & convenient”
A very fine small hotel. Room was nicely fitted out w. very comfortable bed & linens and very clean & functional bathroom. Staff was friendly & courteous. Included breakfast was modest but nourishing. Not the hotel for one who likes to spend the whole day in a hotel swathed in luxurious amenities -or for one who is shocked by viewing a homeless person. The neighborhood is very safe, though representative of many inner cities - culturally-mixed and exposed to people w. problems, Great old bookstore next to lobby and superbly convenient for cruise ship travelors.
“Good Location”
Good location for walking to China Town and to our Cruise ship. Staff very helpful.
“Good enough for overnight stay”
Hotel service: The bell boy is also the valet so when several guests arrive and some guests need their cars from the valet, he can only assist one group at a time. Condition of hotel: The hotel is old and it shows like in its particular smell in the hallways..not in a bad way but it just smells like an old building. Comfort of room: I love their soft, fluffy and clean pillows - that's what I really noticed. Bed is comfortable as expected. Convenience of hotel location: Not so pleased with the location. No parking space so valet parking is only your option, for a fee. Hotel lobby is right beside the sidewalk street so there is no driveway in front of the lobby. So if you have a rental car, you will just quickly stop beside the sidewalk (with hazard lights on) and call the hotel bell boy to help you unload your stuff from the car. You can then self-park your car to a public parking lot on the next street or leave your car to the valet. Surrounding neighborhood: Upon learning where we are staying, the taxi driver that took us from the airport to the hotel told us that we should not be walking towards the other direction of the street where the hotel is located because it is known for being a dangerous neighborhood. From our own experience, we just noticed that there are several homeless people at the nearby park because there are shelters near the park - but not on the hotel street itself. Overall, I can recommend this hotel to those looking for cheap overnight stays.
“Good deal for the money”
The hotel had the pleasant charm of an older hotel that had been remodeled. Interestng quirks to the rooms, but accommodations were fine. The hotel had a bit of a musty smell, but we kept the windows open. Complimentary breakfast was substantial and the staff very cordial.
“Nice location for a pre-cruise stay!”
This was the closest hotel we found at a reasonable price for our pre-cruise night in Vancouver. It not only was a good location, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room comfortable but small, and breakfast was included.
