Ok experience

Posted Feb 12, 2015
The staff is friendly, the facility is old and need upgrading or reduce their rate to match its condition. Still an effort from staff to keep it clean and mantain shows out. That was good. The hotel is well located in Robson street. In general it was an ok experience.

We have made many upgrades to enhance our rooms, made the free Wi-Fi speed more consistent and continuous without signal interruption or degradation . At any given point there is 65Mbps transfer speed from our 200Mb LAN line in. The building may be old, built in the 1964, but has been modernized with sprinklers system, and has been going through an extensive series of renovation upgrades throughout the continuing years. Our regular rates are quite reasonable and offer value . The rates fluctuations that guest(s) express concern over are based on market demands (i.e. conventions, concerts, events, etc ) for rooms in the downtown Robson St location. We do however offer free room upgrades to offset the escalating market demand rate

It's OK

Pros: Location was right downtown.
Cons: the décor and the bed (it was a bit hard)
Location: Great location
Needed a room in Vancouver on Grey Cup weekend and could only find this one.

dated and dirty

Posted Sep 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Duct tape on the box spring, dusty worn and dated furniture, old frayed carpet, musty smell.

I am sorry this comment does not describe our rooms, we are on a quarterly basis inspected for cleanliness, maintenance and comfort requirements. We would NEVER rent a room as described by this person.

It was a dissonance experience

Posted Sep 14, 2014
This place was expensive and noisy , to be honest , I was practically kept all night due to noice outside of the building... The beds were not that comfortable, and there wasn't even proper hand soap for you to wash your hands . It's good point though , it's staff were really friendly and praticlally treats you like a family . However , other than it's location wise , I would not reccomend staying here unless you do not have a choice .

I appreciate the positive comment about the staff. We cannot control the noise outside of the building. We are located in the heart of downtown Vancouver ( Robson St ) .I wish the guest had mentioned the noise complaint during his stay here , we could have contacted the police for assistance relating to the noise outside the building

We have been expanding our breakfast room and as such certain underground secured parking stalls have become occupied by furnishings, debris material, however, none of the guest rooms or common area are affected by this. Please accept our sincere apologize for the unsightly mess during this improvement project .

Not the nicest hotel around, but well located.

Posted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel is a bit expensive for what you actually get, except for the fact that it is well located. The staff was friendly though. I had to have my card re-magnetized daily, and the internet was at best intermittent, preventing me from doing any kind of important online work. It was obvious that no one had vacuumed behind the washroom door for months.Location is really the strong suite here. Lots of places to eat where the quality/price ratio is high. Shops, boat tours, Stanley park, all a short distance away.

I am sorry that our Wi-Fi was not up to the desired requirement. I did provide an SSL hard wired complementary internet access . The broadband usage was very high and moving forward, we will be installing a dedicated router ( ur option : Wi-FI or hard wired ) for each room.

This guest paid the high price due to a high volume attendance to conference at the convention center ( 10 minute walk from the Hotel ) . The high room rates were reflective of the artificially induced market demand for rooms.
