Great hotel, great location

Friendly staff greeted us by name. Loved the extra touches like juice in the lobby, and shortbread snacks next to your bed in the evenings.

Girls Trip Awesomeness

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: The decor, comfort and location.
Cons: There weren't enough drawers for clothes - only 2 small ones.
Location: Centrally located in downtown - minutes walking to shops, restaurants, the waterfront and marina, the train, art galleries, Stanley Park.
We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the hotel - well appointed, recently renovated in true 20's fashion, comfortable and centrally located in downtown Vancouver. The staff were very helpful, especially Samantha, the concierge. They attended to all our needs - even trying to fix my broken sunglasses. The Speakeasy bar was a nice surprise and the servers were all very well dressed. The windows were very well insulated for noise - even though we were right above a busy street, it was very quiet at night. The shower was amazing with its waterfall head and beautiful chocolate brown marble. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linen of high quality. It usually takes me a few nights to get accustomed to a new bed, but not this time - my first night was just as comfortable as my home experience.

A Gem of a Hotel in Downtown Vancouver

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: The bed was heavenly. The common areas were beautifully appointed, and the staff, super attentive.
Cons: The couch in the room was not comfortable, certainly not as comfortable as the luxurious bed.
Location: Both the small cafe located off the lobby, and the restaurant in the hotel, Hawksworth, are very good, and worth a visit.
I loved this hotel. The entire Rosewood chain is excellent. This hotel is a fine example of an old hotel with old world charm, updated with all of the amenities. The staff and amenities were excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vancouver.

In our room there was no bathtub. They charged us $35 per night to move to the same room ( not an upgrade) just to have a tub. I think, for the price of the room, that a bath might be included. The beds they call king sized are between queen and king, not full sized kings as they quote. Our room was extremely noisy, being across the street from the Art Gallery where there was a festival in the courtyard. Otherwise, it is a wonderful hotel.

A great place to stay in downtown Vancouver

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: The style - not all brass and glass. The staff - all very professional, competent and friendly.
Cons: Lighting in the foyer, and positioning of the TV in some rooms.
Location: The location - great for tourists or businesspeople. Numerous restaurants within 5 minutes walk, ranging from expensive to "cheap & cheerful ". Plenty
My wife & I stayed for 3 nights after a 22night cruise from Sydney. We were checked in immediately on arrival at around 10.00AM - check-in time officially is 3.00PM - to our pre-booked room. The front-desk, housekeeping and concierge staff were always efficient, friendly and very helpful. The room and king bed were in perfect condition. We particularly liked being able to leave the window open a little for fresh air, and although we were only on the 4th floor traffic noise was not a problem The extensive renovation of the house some years ago was a masterly job, keeping the 1920s features while adding all the latest including wifi, pool, gym etc. The building still features the lovely timbers and woodwork of the original fit out. The foyer is particularly delightful with a small lounge and open fireplace, but it is a little dim, there is a need for some more lighting to highlight the timber. The location on Georgia Street is perfect for walking to museums, shopping, dining and the harbour. Only 2 minor gripes: the TV in our room was placed parallel to the bed - resulting in a stiff neck if you watched from the bed instead of the only easy chair. And the minibar - well stocked, prices just OK, but while the items were listed with prices the number of each supplied is not. Why is this a common fault with hotels and cruise liners these days? Never the less we loved the Rosewood and if we are ever lucky enough to return to beautiful Vancouver that is certainly where we wi
