Good location to airportPosted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Great shuttle service
Cons: Better supervision of the housekeeping work.
I arrived at 11 at night, dead tired, get into my room , the carpet was so dirty with confettilike paper, mud clumps, lint and even broken glass, etc I had to call down to complain. Front desk agent was very helpful and assigned me another room on the same floor. Up I go again to find another room also in great need of vacuuming. This time the the clerk personally looked at another room for me and brought my luggage to the 3rd room. This was a very well cleaned room that the other 2 should have been. It was now after midnight and i had 7 hours before my next flight. I had booked the room thru Expedia's discounted unknown hotel until you are committed by having already paid. Good price but after this experience would definitely NOT do it again. I feel that some compensation should be made by the Sandman Hotel chain for all my inconvenience.

useful overnight stay near to airportPosted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: complimentary shuttle bus to airport, room service available from Moxies restaurant downstairs
Location: handy for airport. Places to eat include Moxies at the hotel, and nearby, the Pantry, Tim Hortons, A & W,and other eateries
Room was not large but was comfortable enough. Had microwave, fridge, coffee maker. Everything was fine for an overnight stay between flights.

Close to the airportPosted Feb 27, 2014
Airport arrival delayed, Sandman's airport shuttle had stopped for the night, taxi dropped us off with all our luggage, they did not have a room with two beds for us as we had previously booked/pd for. It was late and we were exhausted. A nice couple gave up their room for us and went to another Sandman. The heating unit was noisy and didn't work properly. We were cold all night and kept awake by the loud blowing of the heater. The next morning the shuttle did not show up at 7:30a or at 8a. A taxi finally came to take us to the airport. The only reason we didn't miss our flight was due to flight delays.

Never againPosted Feb 25, 2014
Arrived with my family at 1:30 am after a 6 hour flight in from Honolulu, we had a layover and were to continue flying home the next day. We piled into a SUV cab, 6 bodies, 6 suitcases, a stroller and a car seat. There was 1 staff on his night shift at the hotel when my fiancé, our exhausted sleeping 15 month old and I, my parents and my brother, and another couple and their son all showed up to check into our rooms. We piled out of our cab and unloaded all the luggage into the lobby. My parents were then told that although they had booked a 2 bed room the only room they had available was a one bed so they would have to stay in that room. My parents and my brother, to share one bed??? After an argument he said he could send them to a different sandman, but my fiancé and I would have to stay at this one because we were only 2 people and a baby so we fit in a one bed. Again we argued, we are a family and we want to stay together. He was also obliovus to the fact that we had just traveled 6 hours and taken a cab to his hotel and assumed my parents had a vehicle to drive themselves to this other hotel. Finally he said he would call another cab to come back and take them. While this was all going on the other group of 3 were waiting to check in. They had also booked a 2 bed room but were instead put into a room with a bed and a pull out. They were kind enough to offer my parents and brother their room so that we could all stay as a family. That staff member had zero compassion for

Location: Moxies next door.
Sent us to a room that had guests in it. We were very surprised at this when we walked in the room.

Very small room.Posted Feb 23, 2014
Cons: Hook in the bathroom, at least a coat rack for coats, and a warning about size of room.
While a seemingly good deal, our room was very, very small. It shared space with the elevator shaft, which was totally quiet, but left no room for a closet or any place to hang up my coat or clothes and no leg room for the two chairs provided. It was too small to include a desk. And while we would have hung our towels to help the environment, the bathroom had no towel bar or even hook to hang up a robe or a towel.

EnroutePosted Feb 22, 2014
Pros: The positive attitude, the good bed, and the handy restaurant . The shuttle to the airport is very nice as well.
Cons: Not a thing.
I flew into YVR knowing I would have a god bed for the night before the last leg of my home bound journey. I had stayed here before and chose it because the staff and restaurant had pleased me. I was not diappointed. The same level of courtesy and helpfulness were appreciated. After I booked my shuttle time for the next day. The receptionist SUGGESTED (before I requested) that my check out time be delayed! That is good service! The positive

A good room, with a restaurant/barPosted Feb 8, 2014
In town for a short visit and the hotel provided us with a good room, with a restaurant/bar - Moxies - that was open until late - 2:00AM so it was easy to grab a late snack after a flight. Convenient to the Canada Line for access into city and Yaletown. It is about a 10 minute walk at most. Shuttle to and from airport was a nice touch. We were up for first shuttle at 4:00am and it was prompt and ready to roll for us. Worth it for the price. Cheers
