Day trip

Very comfortable hotel and walk distance from several stores. Do ask for a room above the 4th floor has the lower ones seem to need updating. Water slide is a blast for the kids.

Lacking attention to details

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Front staff very friendly but inexperienced
Cons: Pay closer attention to the everyday runnings of your hotel, in room 1204, most of the dresser handles broken or loose
Overall a nice location from airport and vancouver, staff very friendly, but overall maintenance and attention to detail lacking, air conditioning worked in only half the rooms, rooms were dirty, pool side both indoor and outdoor needed attention, hallways in tower floors dirty, chop restaurant in hotel was dirty, serving staff slow, food not up to par with other chop restaurants we've attended.

Has it gone down hill over the last year

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Cons: A lot,
Elevator / room key needed replacement several times...blamed cell phone, air conditioning unable to cool room properly, bath tap extremely difficult to turn without great effort. My wife could not manage it. Elevator doors would not open properly on two occasions. Door flew open then snapped shut immediately. My son, also with us complained of air conditioner problems and ineffective. He felt since his last stay a year ago it had gone down hill

Close to the airport

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Feels upscale
Cons: An exercise area/room that matches an upscale image that the hotel seems to want to project.
Location: Good stay if you need to quickly get to the airport in the morning.
Overall a good experience. Nice architecture, nearby restaurants, helpful staff. The biggest disappointment was the exercise room. Two pieces of equipment were broken, and the attendant was not too concerned about this. Also, would be good to have some lighter free weights.

Very disappointed at the Sandman Signature

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: The friendly and helpful front desk staff
Cons: This is an old building that required a lot of updates or fixing.
Location: Not much.
The first room C512 we checked in smelled like pee. The front desk staff was very quick to move us to another room C712 within 10 minutes. Took a shower in the evening and the faucet handle would not shut off so I could not turn off the water. Jessie at the front desk sent someone to fix it and he could not so Jessie went up and tried to fix it himself and same results. Jessie offered to move us to another room but my wife already started to sleep so we did not want to move. I could not sleep with that loud water dripping all night. Jessie had a maintenance person ready when I called the next morning but he could not fix it in short time so Jessie moved us to the 20th floor so we could shower. Great staff that deserve recognition and rewards for their excellence customer service. Terrible facilities. 3 rooms in one stay is a lot for one night. I should have paid less and stayed at the Sandman Lodge instead. I think the Sandman Signature at Vancouver Airport should reimburse us for our terrible experience.

Overall good

Was decent, room was clean and modern but aging, and internet didn't work in my room and pool was closed even though the weather was hot.

A great hotel with really good amenities.

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: The hotel manager was very accommodating, in particular, he helped us with our room selection. We loved the water slide health club and fitness center
Cons: Smells in elevator are questionable, e.g., proof of high volume of travellers and date of origin of construction.
Location: Very short drive to the following: Richmond Night Market. Vancouver (e.g., Granville, Point Grey, UBC, etc.)
We loved the location, e.g., close proximity to Richmond and Vancouver. CHOP restaurant is nice for both families and small parties. Steve NASH Fitness was a good alternative to a private hotel gym.

Great Location

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: There are small things that could be improved e.g. the coffee did not get replenished one day and it required me to call the guest services twice.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. The Hotel is good but not great. The people were friendly and the location is awesome. The rooms are smaller than we thought and TV signal was pretty bad. With Soccer world cup going on, it was pretty disappointing.
