“Great hotel for the money”
The rooms are small, but clean and nicely furnished. There is even a washer and dryer in the room! Also, it is in a safe neighborhood and is within walking distance to many retaurants and shops. We would stay there again.
“Great hotel in Vancouver”
Close to Stanley park (great for bike riding - rentals close by), shops, restaurants, supermarkets, liquor store, mass transit...has onsite parking..worth it to pay extra for view of the sound...full kitchen (with stove, dishes, and dishwasher) is wonderful...two TVs, in room washing machine...staff is efficient and friendly...great value for a city hotel.
“Cool place during a hot August”
A convenient location and pleasant hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our room had a separate bedroom, an outdoor lania, a pull-out couch bed, a table, and modern appliances, including a washing machine and dishwasher. It was like a little apartment. The weather was unusually hot for Vancouver, and in some places reached 100 degrees. The suite was comfortably air-conditioned. The staff was friendly and helpful, as were the other guests. If you go during the August fireworks displays, and like fireworks, be sure to get an upper room facing English Bay. We were on the wrong side, but could see them reflected in the city buildings.
“Good for 3 stars hotel”
Great hotel location. A lot places to walk. We were on top floor so the view was great, however, the room was in average condition. The kitchenware was limited, the bed and pillows were not comfortable, and the overall room cleanliness was not perfect. But for 3 stars hotel and price, it was acceptable. We would stay in this hotel again mostly because of location and price.
“Great location”
Great views of west downtown & mountains. Stay on 18th floor or higher. Take advantage of Moxie's restaurant I was very impressed by the quality of the food for a hotel restaurant.
“This hotel is a relatively inexpensive option for staying in downtown Vancouver. Great location.”
Don't let the name Sandman mislead you. This is a great hotel in an excellent location. Lots of great restuarants to walk to, and a cheap cab ride to Robson, Granville, Yaletown or Gastown. Excellent location. Also, it's an inexpensive way to stay downtown, saving money for shopping and nights out on the town. An extra plus - the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
“The best value in a suite hotel in Vancouver”
I've now stayed at Sandman Inn Suites in Vancouver 4 times. It's become my favourite for several reasons: location, price, size, kitchen, decor, on-site restaurant, nice front desk staff. The suites are fully stocked and very large for Vancouver.
“I like this Hotel!”
Hotel service was very good!
“Great hotel, cute neighborhood”
I enjoyed this hotel very much. My room included a bedroom and a living room, with a small kitchen. The maids did the dishes every day! There is also a nice view of downtown Vancouver. You may keep in mind the Davie area of Vancouver is a gay neighborhood, so if this bothers you you may not like this area. If you need some new underwear, the underwear store down the street has an extensive selection ; ) There are also 2 kink/porn boutiques on this street, and a 25 cent peep show right across the street from the hotel. It is a nice area though, a great bakery right next store (and a Starbucks), a fresh produce market, really all you need a for a nice breakfast. There was no wireless internet, though there was LAN modem which worked OK but seemed kind of slow to me. So, if you don't mind the off-color neighbohood you will like this place, I did.
“Feels like your own little downtown apartment!”
This hotel had everything we needed for our one nights' stay in beautiful Vancouver, BC. The comfort and convenience of the room however would be perfect to stay in for a few nights, or weeks. We love the modern style of the hotel, from the lobby to the room itself. We cooked steak and vegetables for dinner (grocery store less than 1 block away!) in our own room, and sat on the sofa watching tv while we ate. It felt like home. The seperate bedroom with a door made it feel like a mini apartment. Please note our use of the word "mini". This hotel is not for the claustrophobic. It's pretty small, but very manageable. The suite also has a washer/dryer, fridge, microwave and full kitchen with everything you need! The balcony was nice too, and would be great in warmer months. We loved being able to make use of the businss centre, with free internet access and a printer too. You can't beat the low price for this great place! We would definitely stay there again.
